Hi everyone, I’ve been following the feedback about the Summer Split format and schedule, and I want to be upfront about it. Summer Split format didn’t land the way we hoped and we won’t bring it back next year. We’re also looking for ways to increase the number of competition

@arbykov Like many others, I really didn’t like the format of the summer split. But thank you very much for coming here humbly to discuss it. I think we can’t even imagine how difficult it must be to manage all the stakeholders (Riot Games, the teams, the fans, even Valorant...). Stay

@meyerpi0 thank you for the feedback PH (and for the kind words), it certainly matters and I took a note of it. Hopefully you don't need to wait until 2026 for some bangers and the second part of the Summer Split delivers. :)

@arbykov Instead of moving to different days when clashing with VCT, why not use that as an opportunity to host the road shows on those weekends, those were a smash hit for fans, players and broadcast imo, need them as much as possible

@tak_01_ hey tak, great suggestion and it's something we did in Spring this year with the second Roadtrip. Not something we'd be always able to do though as venue booking for big-arena events is complex.

@arbykov Is there a chance to consider a competitive format for LEC similar to LPL/LCK, rather than experimenting yearly? A consistent format in other leagues fosters competitiveness and addresses issues like frequent changes that harm fan engagement and sponsorships. In the current

@shotooo0_ hey shoto, thank you for the feedback. Benefits of consistent format is something I've been thinking a lot lately so definitely see your point. To offer an alternative perspective: format changes unlock opportunities that make the LEC better. Saying goodbye to Bo1s unlocked

@arbykov Hey Artem, I think one consistent feedback the fans have given (having listened to it on the Riot end and now from the outside) is that the LEC teams don't play enough games. Comparisons to LCK/LPL are made constantly about how a top team in China or Korea will have played

@Shakarez hey Renato, good to hear from you and I appreciate the constructive feedback. You bring up good points and it's one of the avenues we're considering.

@arbykov Didn't even watch lec summer split Joke of a split tbh and I've been watching since 2017 religiously. You're losing us viewers that really used to care

@Will_Dallas_ hey Will, I'm sorry that you feel that way, especially as a long-time fan. Was the format the only reason for not watching the Summer Split or were there other reasons? Taking notes for where we can do better.

@arbykov Is BO2 something possible next year? Each game has an impact, and we could have a schedule with fixed times.

@L_italien_du_86 not something we're considering for the next year. You're right, it will make scheduling more straightforward. We also heard overwhelming feedback from fans that 1:1 match score doesn't feel great, that's the main reason for avoiding Bo2s. Maybe we play 1vs1 deciders? :)

@arbykov Always the same answers "we gonna work for next year blablabla" and always the same bs format in a different way, we are tired of thoses excuses tbh.

@RomanceDouce last year fans wanted more Bo3s and more big-arena events, we made both happen this year. There are constraints and we won't get it right each time but we always listen to feedback and try to make the LEC fun and exciting for the fans.

@arbykov To improve: Identical formats and number of games played across all regions! To keep doing: Frearless, BO3 and BO5.

@Sunnywher noted, thank you for the feedback Sanny.

@arbykov just do online matches days, no need to be in the studio for the crowd when there are times with max 60 people

@itsCristolol the crowd is not the only reason why we're using the studio. A few examples: without the studio we won't be able to use the analyst desk on the broadcast, the on-site caster/co-streamer booths, and create awesome on-air segments as the one we did with Jankos a few shows ago.

@arbykov i personally just want more games and consistent schedule, i feel like im waiting all week and then its over pretty fast. Need the hype back😂🥲

@kyahri_ hi kyahri, thank you for the feedback. I think it's very fair, noted. 🫡

@arbykov Why summer split didn't have double round robin in groups?

@xcwucx we unfortunately didn't have enough time in the Summer Split window (between EWC and the Madrid Final) to run double round robin Bo3 groups or one group Bo3 single round robin. We had a 12 weeks window in Spring vs. a 9 week window in Summer.

@arbykov Hello Artem, I think this is an amazing tweet, I’m sure fans would love to see more opportunities like this to discuss formats in the future! I wanted to share a few points I haven’t seen much in the other replies: Consistency across formats: I think that having different

@arbykov Where does the idea of teams selecting their group come from? I really don't get why we don't have the same kind of groups as in the LPL or LCK. I don't think any league should avoid having its greatest matches, such as FNC vs MKOI or G2 vs KC. I really would like to know what

@arbykov Good coms, nice to see.

@arbykov Have you consider a format where the full year have consequences? Because right now team that have been underperforming all years could snatch a spot for worlds. The firsts split off the year feels useless when their is a possibility for winter and split champ to miss worlds.

@arbykov I dont understand something ... teama payed almost 50 mils for a spot .. regardless of how much they pay local in berlin to keep the bootcamps and so on ... and the ewc investisements .. so i think money is not a problem It is just absurd that a team played 2 bo3 in 27 days ...

@arbykov copy paste lck format plain and simple, I just saved you from spending time and ressources in paying for useless consultants and meetings, you're welcome
