Gemini 2.5 Flash Image (Nano Banana) best practices 🍌🍌🍌 - Be hyper-specific: The more detail you provide, the more control you have. Instead of "fantasy armor," describe it "ornate elven plate armor, etched with silver leaf patterns, with a high collar and pauldrons shaped

@_philschmid why are we giving Ai engineers a pass on the pisspoor natural language inferences and requiring users to learn these best practices.. Ai is meant to be a tool for humans to understand human language and expectations. We mold it to our whims not change our ways for Ai.

@_philschmid Nice! Long live the Banana

@_philschmid Any way to specify the output format ? Dimension and file type ?

@_philschmid Something I learned two years ago before any of this was a trend

@_philschmid It's the lack of specificity that kills us. We expect the AI to understand everything that we are thinking.

@_philschmid Checks out with my experience!

@_philschmid How can we reduce text errors when prompting nano banana, any tips?

@_philschmid The camera control tips are pure gold. It is like finally getting a manual for a spaceship.

@_philschmid Again lazy prompt will not take you anywhere

@_philschmid For best results, focus on intricate details like "vibrant yellow hue with subtle speckles, elongated shape, and a glossy finish."

@_philschmid that's very helpful list of tips! πŸ™

@_philschmid Control emerges from specificity. But too much detail can stifle imagination. Find the balance.

@_philschmid It would be really valuable to know if it's possible or not to end up in a "Shadow Ban"-Mode. Feels from my usage and reading of reports like it. https://x.com/MarioHachemer/st...

@_philschmid agreed, follows a similar structure to prompting with Veo3 i think many are used to MJ doing the heavy lifting on their image prompts best to be detailed with NB put words to what you see in your mind

@_philschmid the aspect ratio thing was driving me crazy ty! is there any other guidance for enforcing aspect ratio? just asking in the prompt doesn’t seem to do it but i was thinking a hack could just be to pass a blank image in the ratio i want as the last image and describe my edits with

@_philschmid You can store specific details in a condensed format for images/videos using JSON prompting

@_philschmid We got Nano Banana agents in Coral too 😎

@_philschmid Thanks for sharing mate! πŸ™Œ

@_philschmid Providing the context and intent has been really helpful in getting perfect images.

@_philschmid Super Helpful, Philip!

@_philschmid Love this breakdown - reminds me of Eric Franklin's point about specificity being the real magic in AI image gen. The nano banana example is perfect for that.

@_philschmid So, can't understand more generic prompts? πŸ€” Like "turn this ugly poster to at least more professional and cleaner" (Btw I tested it with Merah Putih: One for All awful poster, but just spit out the same pic, unchanged! Guess I stick to GPT-Image-1 and Grok's Imagine.

@_philschmid The aspect ratio when editing is only preserved *approximately*. Is there a list of standard aspect ratios or a number dimensions have to be divisible by so that if we resize the input image, we can ensure the same size?

@_philschmid What about 'enhance prompt' feature seen in diffusion websites? A toggle, that if checked, makes the gemini try to improve the prompt, taking some creative liberties, and generate image from that?

@_philschmid This is basically the Claude 3.5 Sonnet for image editing; wonderful personality and steerability of you don't overwhelm it by trying to lazily "one shot" your way to everything.

@_philschmid Also prompt adherence is nowhere nearly as good as one would expect. I asked it to edit a photo by using a 200 mm focal length and just zoom out within a scene. It created a horror image with a duplicate distorted person behind the main subject and kept insisting it was fine.

@_philschmid Nice suggestions. Thanks for the compilation. They are aligned with what I have been observing too. The second one, preserving character qualities in a newly started conversaiton, is easier said than done though.

@_philschmid Just ask Gemini to write the prompt for you.

@_philschmid Thanks. Much inspiration for a lot of fun

@_philschmid πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

@_philschmid specificity is the key to creativity

@_philschmid Intriguing, but could hyper-specificity hinder the AI's creative freedom?

@_philschmid AI Studio looks amazing now. Congrats to the team! Crazy how it went from being bullied months ago to non devs using it today. This could shape the next gen of AI devs, a crucial piece in AI development.
