Comet's Personal Search data is used to train Perplexity's AI models. This means your search history, emails, and family photos could be used to personalize responses and, in some cases, shared with third parties. Opting out is possible, but few people likely do. 4/6

Perplexity doesn't have ads yet, but it is already building an ad business. Chrome became a pillar of Google's empire because it wasn't just a browser; it was a data collection engine. Perplexity’s bid shows that AI companies see the same potential. 5/6
