I go to Afrohouse events for 2 reasons: The music — it’s like a gateway to another dimension. It makes me feel alive, happy & at peace. The community — house crowds are warm, safe, fun & free of judgment & bad energy. It’s the one space I can escape life’s pressures & just be.

My experience was, for the first time ever, like other ravers who witnessed would & have agreed, to have been quite horrific at Gondwana.

To conclude: The coordinators offered me kindness and empathy while talking to me. However, the security just stood there. Specifically, the alleged head of security at @OSereni . He was dismissive and didn’t care at all. He manhandled my friend as well.

This was an intense, overwhelming and traumatizing encounter with strangers. Thankyou to everyone who reached out to check on me. Bless you🌸. The house community is a peaceful place. It’d be nice if RESPECT is maintained. Big up to Wandat and Suraj for calling the guy out🫶🏼.
