@thisisgrantlee Thanks, that helps a lot. We run our app for 3 years but I would attribute all our users to either luck, ads, or product. We never really found a successful marketing formula that works. We get viral a couple of times but can't replicate.

@oscarle_x would try going back to the basics, get a product that has strong word of mouth, and at least decent conversion and retention before worrying about marketing

@thisisgrantlee The brand before performance marketing approach is genius and most startups do it completely backwards. Everyone rushes straight to Meta ads with terrible creative, then burns through budgets wondering why their CAC is through the roof. Nailing your messaging and visuals first

@thisisgrantlee As a power user- I think 3+4 in your list did most of the work. I get you 5-10 users/week by recommending it and suggesting folks don’t even eval the competition, all of which i’ve tried and even paid for before going all in (despite some real gaps remaining). Great product.
