1. Inconsistent night for Tom Willander. Beat on the game-tying goal + struggled to feel pressure on retrievals, including on a tough 2nd period sequence in which a giveaway created a 2-on-0. He’ll have to be sharper tomorrow and at main camp to earn a roster spot.

2. Elias Pettersson hits hard, even in this environment. Legit heard an Ulf Samuelsson comp thrown out on scouts row tonight. High praise. Got some work to do handling the puck, but he’s clever offensively, and made a lovely touch pass to set up Vancouver’s third goal.

3. I’m buying Vilmer Alriksson stock. He played a bully game on Saturday and flashed good ability to leverage his size and protect the puck. Some consistency issues. Fitness will need more work too. Uses his size very well, though. Good speed. Dawg mentality. Standout.

4. If the #Canucks had held on and won, Alexei Medvedev would’ve been the reason for it. Though he allowed four goals, it took something remarkable to beat him - usually a second, or third chance - in every instance. Athletic, poised. He nearly stole the win on Saturday.

5. Berkly Catton was the best player on the ice and looks ready to push to be an NHL player this fall. Vancouver’s top prospects (Cootes, Lekkerimäki) rarely had the puck in H2H minutes vs. Catton. Think that’s partly why Alriksson’s physicality stood out so much for Vancouver.
