@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually It's crazy how it's always the USA where this shit happens.
@drtyirishtactx @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually I want you to think with me here. What is the plan for confiscating every gun in America, including this retard's ancient hunting rifle. Bc this thing wasn't even semi auto and based on some of the discord chats, might not even belong to the shooter.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually That's a nonsense straw man. Guns exist in other countries. They are just regulated better.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually What I'm talking about is not just legal, but a cultural shift where we can finally get to a point where we as a country can say, "guns are cool and all but we probably shouldn't build personalities around them"
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually Finally: and a purely pedantic point, making smokeless powder is a fucking bitch so if ammunition was taken off the market most guns would be paperweights in about ten years.
@drtyirishtactx @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually This is the first thing that you've proposed that would actually stop the shooting, congrats! Lotta schizo ammo hoarders out there tho so this would do it in maybe 50 years.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually That's not even my suggestion. It just WOULD work. I have hill folk family members who occasionally have to shoot a rabid coyote so guns aren't completely useless.
@drtyirishtactx @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually Ok so we control ammunition. Only one bullet per person per year. Lock that shit down. Charlie Kirk is still getting popped.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually Nah man... You are missing my point. You are trying to stop THAT assassination from happening which is like trying to put the milk back in the bottle. We need to, as a country, deal with our preoccupation with violence and guns.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually If you want to get metaphorical, the bullet that killed Charlie was fired before any of us was even born.
@drtyirishtactx @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually I mean it's a nice sentiment of course, and I understand what you're saying, but it also comes down to the police in America having almost no monopoly on violence. My family got guns initially after being robbed 3x when I was a kid. You'd need like 10x the police.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually I'm sorry but that is a dramatically different reality than the one I live in. I grew up part of my life on Carey Street in Baltimore. I saw crime, sure, but two things about growing up in one of the most violent areas of the country:
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually 1. Every situation is made worse by the inclusion of guns. 2. Police will always escalate a situation rather than de-escalate.
@drtyirishtactx @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually This is so braindead man. Even my libbed up family friends in chicago all carry. Every yn had a gun already, it's just a prisoner's dilemma. Obviously if everyone's unarmed, that's the safest route, but that's not an option without door to door raids on gang neighborhoods.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually Esoteric, I know... but follow me. Do you know what the most used construction material for fireproofing was for hundreds of years, ending only in the 80's?
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually Asbestos. That shit was everywhere. Once we realized as a country that it was a deadly carcinogen we moved heaven and earth to remove it.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually Seems like we just lack the will as a country. I'm asking what it will take? School kids? Obviously not. Charlie Kirk? Is watching a conservative 2a absolutist get blown away senselessly enough to break this country's fever?
@drtyirishtactx @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually You're still focusing on the rural gun perverts who make up a significant minority of homicide stats. How are you taking the (already largely illegal) guns from young urban black people that make up the majority of all firearm homicides in America without cops quitting en masse?
@drtyirishtactx @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually Yes, you're wildly uninformed.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually Right... but now do that but control for socioeconomic factors.
@drtyirishtactx @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually There's no way you're reading or understanding all of this, but again please tell me the plan to remove firearms from those who already own them illegally in the highest-murder-rate counties. #rcatoc-conclusion class="text-blue-500 hover:underline" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">https://randomcriticalanalysis...
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually I'll look into it. I actually enjoy picking apart methodology. And look... I'm not pretending I have an answer more specific than, 'we need to shift the vibe'; but part of that is calling out people who, like Charlie, promoted 2a absolutism as part of "the grift"
@drtyirishtactx @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually I don't have exact stats but I recall over half of all murderers already having a felony convition. 1/3 of all black men in america have a felony and don't have firearm rights but ofc "13/50." Until we can enforce basic laws today, gun control is just disarming the contentious.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually So... just on first blush I see a glaringly fatal flaw with the study you posted. Mostly in that it attempts to have it's cake and eat it to with regards to how it calculates homicides; victims vs perpetrators.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually In one case it looks at the perpetrators but when it suits their puposes they switch to counting victims; presupposing that only black people kill black people. Why would they do this? So they can duck the reasonable criticism that racism in police reporting skews numbers.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually It's not a deathblow in and of itself, but it doesn't speak well to the intellectual honesty of the study.
@drtyirishtactx @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually Just utterly braindead. This is not being conflated, they're just different studies focusing on different outcomes. The vast majority of all homicides are intra-group, which I'm sure you know.
@drtyirishtactx @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually and among interracial homicides, well I'm sure you already know
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually The problem with making this argument (and why the study didn't) is that it opens the door to discussing racism when it comes to police reporting.
@drtyirishtactx @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually If anything this only undercounts black perpetrators. Perpetrator data is data is impossible to get at a county-by-county level. I would suggest studies specific to NYC or Chicago if you want that.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually Homeboy, I'm saying the well is poisoned. Police departments use methodology from the 1920s. I know this. For like a dead ass fact.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually I don't know how counting every black person killed as an incidence of black crime 'undercuts the amount of black perpetrators' if that is what you meant.
@drtyirishtactx @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually These are deaths ruled homicides, what are you talking about? The "undercount" would be that, of all groups, blacks dominate out-group murder.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually If I am reading the study correctly it's author attempted to adjust for racism in criminal reporting by counting black homicide victims as incidents of black crime meaning that his assumption was that 100% of the black people killed were killed by another black person.
@drtyirishtactx @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually Ok I don't know if you're being deliberately retarded here or not. The in-group rate for black on black murder per the FBI in 2019 was 91%. It's a pretty good analogue, and to the degree it isn't a perfect analogue, it's because blacks are overrepresented in interracial murders.
@W1REDGOD @Courier1138 @yuriviolence @commie_sutra @USAGoodActually Wow man. I've been extremely patient but one of us is being obtuse as fuck and spoilers, it ain't me. What I'm saying is that those numbers are based on crime methodology from the 20s. If racist policy causes more black people to be convicted you can't use those #s.
