Many people have been asking me about my view on weekly options and whether they are going away. I am as clueless as everybody else. 😃 Having said that, I would not be surprised if they were banned completely, and/or if there is some product suitability framework that makes it

@Nithin0dha I am a trader who prefers to trade on normal days. Expiry sessions are usually for gamblers who lose money most of the time. I focus on small, consistent gains, and I believe this decision will benefit traders who believe in discipline and consistency.

@Nithin0dha You all brokers seems to not have union. Agar hota to ye din nhi dekhna hota. If you are earning from traders and made your fortune by traders only then why you keep quiet and don't take any action.

@Nithin0dha so basically the days of paying 0.5% on stock delivery is coming

@Nithin0dha Options trading volumes in India dropped 40% after reducing weekly expiries, per NSE and BSE data from July 2024 to September 2025. He believes regulatory risks threaten brokerages reliant on traders. The debate on banning weekly options grows, reflecting global trends and market

@Nithin0dha This is the conversation everyone in the industry is having behind the scenes. Your point about regulatory risk being the #1 threat for brokers is spot on. The 40% drop in option volumes isn't just a number; it's a warning shot. To see this happen in a bull market is even more

@Nithin0dha Unfortunately what is good for investors (which SEBI is after) is not good for broking business! Honestly, unable to see a future for broking business / stock brokers!

@Nithin0dha Fair point that weeklys did fuel volumes but also masked real participation. When 40% vols vanished with just 2 expiries cut, it shows how dependent the market is on expiry churn. Imo bigger questn is how do we increase liquidity in single-stock & Longer index futures liquidity

@Nithin0dha Translation: Indian brokers are like OTT platforms that only stream reality shows. As long as weekly options exist, the drama continues. Remove them, and suddenly it feels like Doordarshan 2010. 📉🇮🇳

@Nithin0dha He says the 40% drop in options trading volume is due to fewer weekly expiries and looming regulatory risks affecting brokerages.

@Nithin0dha Looks like fearmongering to me.

@Nithin0dha okay reasonable take, but you should bat more being on the SMAC dawg

@Nithin0dha Weekly options aren't going away - they're too profitable for exchanges. But stricter rules for retail traders seem inevitable given those volatility charts.

@Nithin0dha Is there a weekly expiry in US or any other countries? If yes ..then. Why the hell it's should be stopped here.. !? What's the logic.. If making loss is the reason then ban all type of trading

@Nithin0dha Ore like a warning to sebi. If weekly expiries removed brokerage firm will increase brokerage fee for equity and that leads to drop in volume of equity and that's how indian market will get cooked. Time to invest in U.S Market

@Nithin0dha Why don't brokers/traders form a union to oppose absurd rules? When someone earns fraudulently, SEBI demands a 10% deposit and closes the case, which seems corrupt. Yet, genuine traders and investors face strict regulations. Why are brokers silent? Share these facts with SEBI.

@Nithin0dha So why doesn't any brokerage firm raises voices against it to sebi . It looks like voices are only online . The street dogs have more voices than the retail in this country its sad

@Nithin0dha Hi please don’t make a change by force, rather make a change by choice. People flock to get free, but stay for comfort and pay for value. Trains have general class, sleeper class, 3 tier AC, 2 tier AC and so on. Pay as you like, get what you pay.

@Nithin0dha Capital flows should be made easier in India, this will only do the opposite. We want capital to take on risks like invest in AI instead of buyback etc, and on other hand make markets shallow. In capital ecosystem, you cant cut one or few parts out and expect it to still prosper

@Nithin0dha With your post regarding weekly expiry going away and somewhat accepting the fact that it might go away, I am pretty sure that weekly expiry will go away. If big broking houses cannot influence the need for it to the regulator, then who will do it.

@Nithin0dha Ur profit will fall atleast 80% if weekly expiry ends.

@Nithin0dha Makes sense, regulatory risk is indeed the biggest risk. But if weekly expiries are curtailed further or removed, what do you think happens to full-time traders like us who rely on them for a living? A blanket ban on F&O feels unlikely, but curious about your take.

@Nithin0dha Shame on you for not supporting retailers which is your core business. You will go down with all these @SEBI_India so called regulations. You guys are killing the golden goose.

@Nithin0dha Now that we’re down ~40%, let’s watch for a few quarters to see how retail responds. If there losses have reduced. Later, we can build a framework—education or entry barriers. It must be case-by-case; one-size-fits-all would be unfair to those who’ve built steadily over time.

@Nithin0dha Financilization not good for nation must produce real goods and services

@Nithin0dha Indians are historically addicted to gambling e.g., cards, lottery, cricket betting and real money games, where house wins always. Many finfluencers have motivated gullible retail investors into options, even educated ones. So, good riddance if options are priced out for gamblers

@Nithin0dha Make a union and do something.. get favourable policies for brokers and traders If you all brokers cannot get something in your favour then what’s the point of earning thousands of crores

@Nithin0dha Sebi is just puppet of operators, brokers, exchanges

@Nithin0dha Sir do you think they will ban derivatives completely, I don't think so.Ninthin anna looters varamaana kammi aagbiduttalva.😁😁😁

@Nithin0dha Do regulators around the world function in the same way as in India?Every alternate day there is a new rule for capital markets.Their IQ seems to be bellow average.

@Nithin0dha It is requested that SEBI consider reinstating weekly expiries for all indices, as was the practice in 2024. Continuation of this framework is essential to maintain market participation, trader confidence, and trust in SEBI and the Ministry of Finance.

@Nithin0dha Can we have derivatives for customised bundle stocks? Usually stocks decline 30 to 40%. Small cases developed with hand picked stocks. How about derivatives around those small cases and with duration of 3 months expiry? Retail can hedge in this manner.

@Nithin0dha Couldn’t have been more better take diplomatically!!
