⚔️ Haaland or Salah or Both or None? This is the core debate of the game right now. Let’s compare them first.

📊 Haaland vs Salah after 4 GWs: Shots: 19 vs 5 SoT: 8 vs 3 xG: 5.7 vs 1.1 xA: 0.31 vs 0.50 G+A: 5 vs 3 Points: 37 vs 25 One is the talisman. The other is ticking along.

Man City attack: 50 shots | 8.4 xG | 8 goals Haaland’s involvement: 38% of shots 68% of xG 62% of goal involvement Clear focal point. No debate here.

Liverpool attack: 60 shots | 5.9 xG | 9 goals Salah’s involvement: 8% of shots 18.6% of xG 33% of goal involvement Not the same level of centrality. And with Isak arriving, it could reduce further.

Among Liverpool attackers: - Salah has the lowest shots (5). Even Szobo has 10. - Wirtz & Gakpo have more key passes. - Only 0.4 xGI difference among the top 4 attackers. Not the monopoly he once had.

Among City attackers: - Only Haaland & Reijnders have played 300+ mins. - Haaland has more than 2x the xG of ALL other City mids/fwds combined. That’s talisman territory.

💰 Double premium? Both feels too expensive. You’ll also want Gyökeres, Palmer or Saka for the sweet Arsenal & Chelsea runs (GW6–12). So the big call: stick to one premium or force both? Currently I am inclined towards Haaland only, which has also made me think about WC6.

♻️ WC6 vs WC8 If you were planning FH6 + WC8… should you just WC6 and save the FH? Short answer: Yes. Here’s why 👇

Best fixture runs GW6–12: CHE, ARS, LEE, TOT, WHU Best runs GW8–12: CHE, WHU, ARS, LEE, BHA 4 teams overlap. The upside of WC6 is you skip (save) FH6 and get Haaland in earlier. With Palace winning last night, chance of SGW/DGW around 16-17 is still on - FH could be useful.

Arsenal run is 🔥 from GW7 onwards. But GW6 is NEW(A)… Newcastle have the lowest xGA in the league so far. That’s the only catch.

On the flip side… If you’re loaded with CHE, LIV, CRY, NFO – GW7 is tricky: - Chelsea vs Liverpool - Palace @ Everton - Forest @ Newcastle Not fixtures you’d love.

Villa? They do have BUR(H) in GW6. But… they haven’t scored a PL goal yet 🤯 From GW8–10 they face TOT, MCI, LIV. Not the time to stock up on Villa either.

I was on BB5 + FH6 + WC8. But now? - Haaland > Salah long term - Template of strong picks is forming - My LIV, NFO, CHE, CRY (and even AVL) picks look bad in GW7 I’m leaning towards WC6.

🛡️ Is 5 at the Back back? Let’s look at defenders this season vs last season.

Clean sheets: This season – 32/80 (40%) Last season – 178/760 (23%) Massive jump. Clean sheets aren’t random variance anymore.

After 4 GWs this season: Top 5 defs: 28–34 pts (delta 6) Top 5 mids: 25–36 pts (delta 11) Top 5 fwds: 20–37 pts (delta 17) Tight spread for defs = consistent value.

After 4 GWs last season: Top 5 defs: 20–29 pts (delta 9) Top 5 mids: 26–43 pts (delta 17) Top 5 fwds: 22–54 pts (delta 32) Midfielders dominated then. Defenders are closing the gap now.

Points spread by position: Last season after 4 GWs: Top 20 scorers = 1 defender, 11 mids This season after 4 GWs: Top 20 scorers = 9 defenders, 6 mids That’s a seismic shift.

Cheap defenders comparison: Last season after 4 GWs: Dalot 20 | Veltman 19 | Dunk 16 This season: Guehi 29 | Senesi 28 | Van de Ven 27 +10 points swing 😳

Senesi has 8 defensive contribution points already (2 each game). So it’s not just attacking returns inflating scores. Clean sheets + DC = 🔥

Verdict: 5 atb might be a stretch. But 4 atb with a playable 4m like Rodon makes sense. Leeds have 2/2 home CS already (vs NEW & EVE). Even your bench 4m is playable.

✅ Haaland is the talisman. Salah not the same. ✅ WC6 > WC8 if your team is creaking. ✅ Defenders are back in business. The FPL meta is shifting fast.

@BakchodFpl Great GW5 thread mate. I already have Haaland but Wirtz/Rogers/Watkins are not doing great so I’ll wait until GW6 to WC. I won’t pick most/if any of Leeds/West Ham players given their awful start to the season.

@BakchodFpl @thefplbois Been having both Salah and Haaland in my team since gw1 together with Palmer. Palmer is now gone for Semenyo and soon Wirtz will leave for either Palmer or Saka and Wood for Gyokeres based on transfers. No plan for WC anytime soon for now.
