Top skin anti-aging supplements: 1. Collagen peptides - collagen synthesis, elasticity 2. Astaxanthin - UV protection, cell senescence 3. Hyaluronic acid - skin hydration, elasticity 4. Glycine - collagen synthesis, glycation protection 5. Niacinamide - NAD synthesis, DNA damage
@siimland There are fat better alternatives
@siimland I find that normal dosing of Astaxanthin (4-12 mg) doesn't move the lever as much as >12mg. I currently take 2x12 mg per day.
@siimland Solid list. In my world I see a few more pieces show up: – Vit C with proline/lysine (and copper) are what your enzymes use to actually rivet collagen together. – Silica is like the scaffold , it holds charge and pulls in water so fibrils can form. – Taurine keeps the dermis
@siimland Awesome video, big fan of your content ⚡️ It seems like you suggested higher-molecular weight hyaluronic acid?? Also magnesium + zinc as cofactors for DNA/RNA polymerases! Cell turnover, hydration, healing, & overall structure.
@siimland Aging skin is basically your collagen calling in sick and your elastin retiring early. 🧑🦳 What helps? 1️⃣ Collagen peptides = rebuild scaffolding 🏗️ 2️⃣ Astaxanthin = sunscreen from the inside ☀️🦐 3️⃣ Hyaluronic acid = turns your skin into a water balloon 💧 4️⃣ Glycine =
@siimland What are the dosage range for each based upon yoir scientific research?
@siimland Glycine's role extends to being a key precursor for glutathione, vital for cellular antioxidant defense and overall skin resilience. A foundational amino acid.
@siimland Great list! Just reported on a fascinating clinical trial on pterostilbene cream - 28 days of 0.1% topical application showed measurable wrinkle reduction and collagen increases. The topical delivery might be more direct than systemic supplementation for skin-specific benefits.
@siimland Also Slower Aging With: -Red light therapy -Blue light blocking sunglasses -Sauna -Resistance training -Whole food diet based -Personal connection -Daily movement -Proper sleep -Hormone balance -Optimized thyroid function -Managing cortisol levels
@siimland What’s exciting is that these same compounds are studied for broader benefits in aging like protecting mitochondria, reducing glycation, and improving tissue resilience.
@siimland I’d also add red light therapy—shown to boost collagen, improve elasticity, and reduce wrinkles in just weeks. Inside-out + outside-in = best skin combo.
@siimland Collagen has glycine in it
@siimland The best heavy metals free collagen https://www.naturemerge.com/pr...
@siimland lycopene,taurine vitamin c
@siimland Are there and best practices in terms of timings and combination of them ?
@siimland No Spermidine for skin Autophagy?
@siimland isnt glycine the main benefical amino acid in collagen? if so, why would collagen be 1 and glycine be 4?
@siimland I need to step my skin game up
