Salah and Haaland 💎 Haaland has started off the season better than Salah, with 5 goals to Salah’s 2. Haaland also has much superior expected goals: Haaland - 5.66 Salah - 1.10 This looks even better for Haaland with non pen xG: Haaland - 5.66 Salah - 0.31

So, it could be a good time to consider switching Salah to Haaland, despite Salah’s goal in the Champions League. In GW5, Haaland is away to Arsenal while Salah is at home to Everton. Due to this, I would wait to make the switch to Haaland unless you are on wildcard in GW5.

Haaland has BUR (H) in GW6 and is a brilliant captaincy option. GW6 is a popular week to wildcard, so many will be able to bring him in that way. If you don’t need to, then you could consider using your triple captain chip.

Bench Reijnders? 🪑 Reijnders is away at Arsenal this week, the best defence in the league, and has struggled to get amongst the goals since GW1. Just because he plays for Man City and has good minutes, it does not mean that you cannot bench him.

However, do keep in mind that he nearly scored vs Man United and his performances have not been completely unconvincing from an FPL perspective. Saying that though, don’t be afraid to bench him if you have better options this week.

Wildcard ♻️ Lots of managers are looking to change up their teams with a GW5 wildcard. This includes the switch from Salah to Haaland. While this looks good long term, in GW5 the fixtures are not actually that good for popular wildcard drafts.

Here is a wildcard draft, a very solid team. However, as you can see, the fixtures in GW5 are not good. So, if you can, I would wait until GW6 to activate the wildcard and chance players like Wirtz, Watkins and Murillo for one more week.

Transfers 👕 Building on the wildcard point, there aren’t many transfers that look good this week due to underperforming assets having nicer fixtures than the players we want to bring in.

So, like with the wildcard, I would look to wait until GW6 to make the changes. If you will be priced out by that point though, and there isn’t a decent alternative, then you could make the moves now to benefit your team in the long term.

Captaincy 🧢 Mohamed Salah - EVE (H) 🔴 A home fixture for Salah following his goal in UCL. He is a decent pick this week; but not a top one as this is the early kick off against a solid Everton side, which is of course a derby too.

Cole Palmer - MUN (A) 🔵 Palmer played well vs Bayern despite limited service, scoring a great goal and having another great one disallowed. Maresca said that he was okay after an injury scare, so he’s a good pick for the match against United who are still poor.

Antoine Semenyo - NEW (H) 🍒 Semenyo has been in good form this season, so has to be included here. He has haul potential, offering goal and assist threat. However, Newcastle have been very solid this season so don’t expect too much here.

Joao Pedro - MUN (A) 🔵 Pedro has been flying this season, just 4 points behind Haaland for the top scoring forward. His minutes should be very good so he could do very well here.

@FPLThorpey @FPLGOAT7 I am not betting on Salah against Everton. 1. It's a local derby, you can't predict what will happen. Well, less than usual. 2. It's historically a low scoring affair with a lot of draws. 3. Everton are looking good, Liverpool aren't despite their record this season.
