Can any licensed firearm owner in Cape Breton who received a notice under the trial of the firearm "compensation" program please DM me - or let me know below and I will get in contact with you. I have some questions for anyone receiving the notice.
Update: I now have the text of the notice. There is NOTHING requiring any licensed owner in Cape Breton to participate in this trial. You are 100% covered by the amnesty. You are not guaranteed to receive any compensation. Please do not participate - do nothing. Absolutely
@FirearmsInCDA This is about disarmament of law abiding gun owners who have a moral upstanding view on how society should be. Without your guns, you're sitting ducks to a govt who rewards criminals. Do not surrender your legally obtained firearms. This is more than public safety.
@FirearmsInCDA This is a really important ask. I hope @garrettshaw_fl sees this too, as he's been following this issue closely for gun owners.
@FirearmsInCDA Legal owner here in ON. I stand with the lawful owners of all Canada. We all need to be on a united front. This is much bigger than taking away property and hobbies.
@FirearmsInCDA @Carrielynn91436 If anyone in Cape Breton feels they must turn in their guns only because of the money I feel is gun owners in the rest of Canada should help them out financially so they keep their firearms and help with the non compliance
@Saskhunter2 @Carrielynn91436 Yes - but Cape Breton owners must realize that they are not guaranteed any compensation under the pilot. They could receive $0 and still have their firearms confiscated during the pilot.

@NuckingFuts19 @fedUpJess Thanks - I am interested in seeing the form of notice being sent to firearm owners in Cape Breton - likely those with registered, previously-restricted firearms that were subject to one of the OIC bans since May 1 2020.
@FirearmsInCDA Genuine question - How does a Canadian gun ban stop Canadians from going to US gun shows and making peer to peer purchases? That is perfectly legal in much of the US. No paperwork no background checks no verification required
