COPIES ARE MONOCHROME BUT YOU COLORED ME IN WITH CARE. A Look Into GREENSTER (Green Gaster) evidence! 🧵 #Deltarune #Gaster #Undertale

NOTES: - This thread merely serves as an exploration on the new surge of discussions for Gaster’s supposed “original” color.

P1. INTRO For those who don’t know, all the hysterics over the Extremely Normal Colored Door recently resulted in some folks speculating on Gaster possibly having an associated color, pre-monochrome state.

Yellow/Gold and Green are currently the most discussed colors (purple gaster found DEAD in the CORE). Gold has ties to Eggs/Determination/Save Points/Primary Color Triad skeletons. I want to explore Green Gaster's viability, so let’s begin.

Let me preface this with the funniest bit of evidence:

Deleted tweets from the Mr. himself. He was actively figuring out a concept for a brother “choosing to fall”, leaving no trace behind. Virtually becoming a secret brother-creepypasta. (Essentially Gaster summarized). Luigi is green… could he be?

P.2 THE NARRATIVE IMPORTANCE OF GREEN IN DELTARUNE With the additions of Ch3+4, I think it’s safe to say green holds oddly significant symbolism throughout the game. From the start of you booting up DELTARUNE, you are met with this color right away.

The saves screen has an incredibly ominous vibe, and option to “ERASE” a world permanently, with a follow-up dialogue saying:

After the post-goner maker sequence, we meet our protagonist, Kris, wearing bright green colors, and early on, flavor-text about faded colors and missing green crayons.

^^The "there's no green." dialogue comes from an interactable object in between two rooms, by the way.

Moving back, I think we are pretty well-aware of Kris’s state as a character. The themes of loss of freedom/entrapment (being a CAGE) infect their every waking moment. Other characters who heavily revolve around the struggle for freedom and choice like Ralsei wear green.

Of course, we can’t forget Spamton himself. The imagery of green strings, being a puppet to the narrative and wanting to break free are PREVALENT.

Heck, the game directly establishes a link to Ralsei and Spamton by making the PuppetScarf his weapon, mannequin interactions, as well as Spamton and Kris being puppets (hence, their agitated reaction to Spamton's fate.)

Even the green boxes from earlier have this same shade of green. Or the Deltarune battle boxes, for the SOUL. In a way, you are limited. You cannot make any other choices outside the ones given to you in the box. You cannot “leave” it.

I believe Gerson demonstrates this.. The green SOUL mechanic traps you. Leaves less choices to move (4-8 directions). His unused attacks involve him bouncing the box around. He is aware that this prophecy “box” cannot be left, but it can be manipulated.

You can "stretch" the limits (of the story) as you want to.

He teaches Susie about the “green sparkles” for healing, which is what unlocks in her the key to change into someone who will defy fate.

I.E. Express HER own freedom. After all;

Green acts as the medium for the themes of self-determination, freedom… and the loss of it. So, I ask… what would it mean for Gaster’s old self to be green?

P.3 DISCUSSION The Livestream further solidified evidence for Mystery Man/Gaster being connected to the Forgotten Man, as the literal “Room In Between” the two brothers’. One might argue the Forgotten Man could be the Deltarune Equivalent of UT Gaster.

And well, you must have noticed the green painting of a bone. When you interact with this dialogue, Papyrus says the following: * (Not important, but not too unimportant.)

Because Gaster’s door is the *3rd* one missing, I thought that maybe we should check… Chapter 3 content!

The A-B-C Rank rooms being in the perfect order for RGB (Color Cone Triad) Red Left - Papyrus Green In Between - Gaster Blue Right - Sans (Hey, maybe the heights of the doors even represent their heights, lol.)

Remember, the middle room B leads to a Giant Ball Machine, in which you can play around with luck. Who is the poster boy for RNG itself but the 1/1000th Mystery Man?

You can input 1225 POINTS to be transported to an eerie maze sequence. Likely rooted in the trauma of Dess becoming “lost”. Eventually, you get lines about “seeing through your hand” (CONT.)

Dess haunts the narrative of this chapter. A missing family member, who got lost in the darkness.

Image in tweet by morkie! | ☻🐢 GERSTER CEO

But the focus here at the moment isn’t just Dess. It’s the man her disappearance is inextricably associated with. The *Third* Forgotten Man Room.

Not only is this a pretty similar green to that bone painting, this is the SAME area we got the “COPIES ARE MONOCHROME” Goner Lore, which sparked this whole color spiel to begin with. (It’s a monochromatic green room).

That livestream Radiation Fox drawing bears another shade of this green. (Gaster = standin for Toby’s experience as a gamedev, anybody?)

Anyway, those monochrome quotes are always talked about, but I actually find the Binoculars Rudinn more fascinating! Take a look at these lines.

When you take a peek into what the Rudinn was talking about, there’s only grey as far as the eye can see. They even sound extremely disappointed, like knowing more about the place was a scam.
