Every day is a choice. Every day, I wake up, and, sometimes in spite of whatever runs through my head, I choose to do good. Every hour I may think a horrible judgment or a terrible thought. I choose not to act on that.
Every interaction comes with the thought of souring it. Sometimes just because. But I don’t do it. I choose not to. Every week a thought flits through my brain of hurting someone out of anger or malice. And then, I don’t do it.
I proactively choose to do good. I must. It’s always a choice. It has to be choice. I choose the good. I choose value. In the end, I choose affection.
And all of these choices only work when I’m dedicated to one thing: the truth. This allows me to pursue justice at every step: to treat everything and everyone for what it is and who they are. I am very hurt.
