I read the letter, and I have thoughts š First, the fact that he wrote a letter to Bibi so thoughtfully and with such detail is evidence in and of itself that Charlie sincerely cared deeply about Israel and supports her. Second, the reasons that it had to be released to the
Antisemitism (in this case, defined as an irrational obsession with Israel and/or holding it to unreasonable standards uniquely applied only to her) exists when a civilization is in decline. It is a symptom that surfaces when a country is suffering from a sinister disease.
What Charlie proposed, even if it could be done effectively, would be treating a symptom, not the disease.
And the reason it canāt be done effectively is because antisemitism is a pernicious hatred that endures across civilizations and centuries. Jews are not to blame for being hated because we canāt āget the word out.ā In fact, blaming hatred on the Jews, like we are doing
While I applaud Charlieās belief that improving Israelās PR is a worthwhile effort (and it is), itās not the actual solution to his frustration.
The reasons young Americans hate Israel, or at least do not support Israel like older Americans do, have nothing to do with āthe war in Gaza is taking too long.ā
The reasons have to do with a complete takeover of American education institutions (and to a lesser but still important extent the destruction and civic disengagement of the American Evangelical churches).
After September 11th, the way the Arab-Israeli conflict was taught in schools was completely revamped and whitewashed under pressure from Islamist groups due to perceived Islamophobia.
Then, money started pouring in to Universities from Arab countries that changed the way the academics thought about and taught students about the conflict. My generation at UCLA for example was one of the last to learn the real history, assuming you took a class on the subject
And the death knell was critical theory, DEI, and the Marxist takeover in K-12. It is a full-time job for parents to monitor what their children are learning; most canāt or donāt focus on the minutiae of whether a centuries old conflict is being taught w historical accuracy.
The medicine for improving American public opinion of Israel is the same medicine for improving American public opinion of America: It is teaching American kids The Truth.
It is not the Israeliās job to teach American children The Truth. Itās our job.
@E_Barcohana Almost as if the letter magically was made up, 16 days to release a word doc? š
@danruiz09 You are exactly who I am talking about in this post and why a normal PR campaign isnāt the answer to the problem.
@E_Barcohana I did not see him blaming Israel. I saw him expressing frustration & wishing he had better tools to fight back. And wanting boomer Israel leadership to seize an opportunity just the way he clearly fought to get boomer RINOs to seize opportunities.
@BASeeker2 I see him doing that, too, and as I said there is A LOOOOOOT of room for improvement in Israelās PR program. He had good ideas and so many of us share the same frustration. BUT what I think he was saying is āif onlyā he had these tools, the problem would be greatly fixed and I
@E_Barcohana I think he was trying to understand the antiZionist crowd and learn how/why they donāt like Israel in a sincere effort to educate them. Charlie is right about Israel. The problem? There are too many lying bigots for Israel to win the ācommunications warā.
@j_ariella Yes I agree he was sincere.
@E_Barcohana Excellent thread by @E_Barcohana. Correctly praises Charlie Kirk's "love" letter to Bibi that centered on a necessary, yet not itself sufficient, effort Israel must make in the MESSAGING arena. @E_Barcohana goes on to note a root cause of AMERICA's problem from within-education.
@irasiegel Thank you for the repost šš¼
@E_Barcohana He was trying to sell his plan to Bibi to be implemented by TPUSA for profit. That's what i think.
@NaomiLitvin Could be. But I think his motives were still sincere. Not mutually exclusive.
@E_Barcohana Iāve been posting these sentiments all morning⦠Charlie was Christian and as such he believed in the New Testamentās teachings. And his letter to Bibi is exactly what you would expect from someone with the character of Charlie Kirk. Iāve been repeating the main point to all
@E_Barcohana @ConceptualJames The letter is also an(other) indictment of Netanyahu, who gutted Israelās PR operations and fired our most capable spokespeople (such as Eylon Levy and Noa Tishbi) because of suspicions that they are not personally loyal to him. Hopefully Israel will get a better government soon.
@E_Barcohana That letter is made up propaganda. How convenient all these messages, texts, letters etc are popping up after his death. The Israelis have no morals or conscience making stuff up. Listen to Charlie himself speak on the days before his murder. He was questioning Israel.
@E_Barcohana There is a full video of this but this is what he was also saying.
@E_Barcohana Christians need to separate biblical Israel from the current govermmet of Israel. They are an ally and should be treated as such but the religious connection is a tool being used to shape narratives and foster support for anything Israel does. Defining criticism of the
@E_Barcohana In his letter tho he clearly states he doesnāt think, using paid spokespersons (subcontractors) to spread info is smart. He clearly wants the government to provide facts to counter narratives not just we tell you thatās what we did, and see these people we pay say so too.
@E_Barcohana If you believe itās an authentic email, I have beach front property in Kansas to sell you
@E_Barcohana another miracle: Charlie writes a letter 2 weeks after his death ! Hallelujah!
@E_Barcohana Charlie Kirk likely believed that, regardless of these outstanding issues and questions about Israel, that asking questions doesn't automatically suggest deep-seeded antisemitism, and if anything, shutting down people who actually ask these only causes antisemitism to rise.
@E_Barcohana As a Christian the modern state of Israel makes no difference to me one way or the other. It is not Jerusalem on the earth, but the " Jerusalem above" that fulfills God's purpose as the spiritual nation rules in God's kingdom from heaven. Galatians 4: 34-41 These things may be
@E_Barcohana His concerns were sincere huh? Start asking the same questions he did. "Was there a stand-down order"? I dare you to ask that.
@E_Barcohana Now imagine he's writing in fear and read again.
@E_Barcohana He was a cheap salesmen who was playing all sides.
