Of course all death is evil, but as far as statistical representation is concerned, even in concentrated areas of terrorism where Christians reside as the overwhelming minority (North-west & North-East), they still suffer higher casualties. See 2020-23 casualties for instance:

Muslims undeniably suffer in Nigeria’s violence, and their loss must not be minimized. Yet the data shows something further: Christians, though a minority, are killed and abducted at higher rates, making them deliberate primary targets rather than incidental victims.

To note this is not to erase Muslim suffering but to recognize that Nigeria’s crisis is both general insecurity/insurgency and religious persecution of Christians; they aren’t mutually exclusive. So, the retort “Muslims are also dying” does nothing to detract from the issue…
