1/ Why does a board whose fans do this not back Palestine? @CelticFC fan anger over transfers reflects deeper tensions. Our exclusive with @tracking_power shows Celtic’s leadership ties to Zionism go back decades - fueling mistrust far beyond football 🧵⬇️ https://www.ukcolumn.org/artic...

2/ In 2025, wildfires scorched Occupied Palestine when “eco-Zionism” projects by the Jewish National Fund - designed to displace Palestinians -burnt down. But long before these headlines, @CelticFC was quietly funding the same settler schemes now burning across Palestine.

3/@CelticFC was built on charity, anti-colonialism and resistance of the Irish diaspora. For decades the Palestinian flag has flown in its stands; a symbol of solidarity forged through shared struggle. Yet our investigation shows Zionist infiltration since 1950s - possibly before

4/In the 1930s @CelticFC players and ex-players attended a lecture on football and 'charity' at the Glasgow Jewish Institute -a prominent cultural and political hub for Zionist activities at the time. This included former player Tom Maley, brother of Celtic’s manager Willie Maley

5/ In 1943, just 3 years after retiring, @CelticFC’s longest-serving manager Willie Maley hosted a fundraiser for a Zionist “Save the Children” campaign - directly supporting the displacement of Palestinians by encouraging Jewish settlements. Donors included key Zionist families.

6/ In 1957 @CelticFC players, chairman Robert Kelly and manager McGrory were hosted by the Jewish Institute - by then accused of harbouring an Irgun terror cell by MI5. Here they met with the JNF - an organisation that has played a key role in the dispossession of Palestinians

7/ The Jewish National Fund is ‘an agency of ethnic cleansing’ which uproots Palestinians from their land under the ‘guise’ of eco-Zionism, creating Jewish settlements, settler violence and environmental devastation. It has partnered with @CelticFC on several occasions.

8/ In 1962, @CelticFC strengthened their relationship with the Jewish National Fund by hosting a ‘fundraiser’ with Real Madrid in aid of Israeli settler projects in Palestine. In other words, Celtic was helping to fund the very systems of ethnic cleansing its fans now oppose.

9/The organiser of @CelticFC’s 1962 JNF ‘fundraiser’ was Zionist Max Benjamin. He praised the board’s “wonderful cooperation and assistance” to aid “the rehabilitation of refugee women and children from Europe and North Africa”- code for the JNF’s ethnic cleansing in Palestine.

10/ Some key players in @CelticFC’s 1962 JNF ‘fundraiser' were influential Zionist families like the Sellyns who sponsored the match programme. As this investigation shows, they have maintained a presence within Celtic via David Sellyn - a patron of the club today.

11/ After organising the 1962 @CelticFC v Real Madrid JNF ‘fundraiser’, Zionist Max Benjamin passed his Celtic connections to daughter Maryon. She became manager of Zionist-funded Bon Secours hospital - deathplace of club legend Willie Mallie and widely used by Celtic in 90s.

12/ As @CelticFC fans call for board accountability, they’re also confronting a legacy of Zionist influence that has shaped the club’s decisions for years. How can a club built on anti-colonial values continue to support the very forces it once stood against?

13/@CelticFC has the most pro-Palestinian fans of any club in the UK due to the multi-generational experience of displacement, loss, and oppression borne of their Irish heritage. It's all the more extraordinary to learn Zionists have been infiltrating the club for decades.

14/In Part 2 of this investigation, we’ll explore how Zionist influence within @CelticFC evolved from the club's 1994 financial rescue and handover to the present day. We'll also explore the fan resistance to this. Stay tuned.

@ScotSport4Pal @leylahamed @CelticFC @Tracking_Power I have said for a long time the hand of Zionism is at work , that is not a board more of a silent secret cult .

@HarveyHar25853 @leylahamed @CelticFC @Tracking_Power You are not wrong there - if the board has a policy of silence on Palestine, there's probably a good reason for it.

@saandpalestine2 @leylahamed @CelticFC @Tracking_Power Thank you - unfortunately much more on this to come!

@ScotSport4Pal @CelticFC @Tracking_Power Looks like celtic fan revolution to come 🍀✌️🇵🇸

@ScotSport4Pal @CelticFC @Tracking_Power Fking ell. Makes the Celts fans stance even more wonderful.
