Statement Regarding My Relationship with Rovio Greetings. These past few days have been genuinely stressful and complicated regarding the documents that have been released against me-
I’m fortunate that followers, acquaintances, and many people who saw those documents were able to understand the situation without difficulty and realize that it was all the result of a misunderstanding. It’s not my place to say whether the people in charge acted with malice or-
not, but I can understand the importance of wanting to protect the Angry Birds IP. As I’ve already made my position on this clear in recent hours, I won’t dwell on it further instead, I want to talk with you about my current situation with Rovio.-
Amid the tension of the situation, it seems a huge misunderstanding has arisen and spread among those who support and try to protect me. Let’s set things straight: Ruby is an integral part of the Angry Birds universe, which belongs to Rovio there’s no doubt about that-
And while I and some others have been given a tremendous opprotunity as a Brand Advisor, that doesn’t make me a permanent employee of Rovio. I mention this because, in a post where I said “Not anymore,” many people immediately assumed that I had been fired from Rovio-
I want to sincerely apologize to everyone who defended me due to that misunderstanding, but please don’t misinterpret me. I don’t work at Rovio. I’ve done some freelance work for Rovio, but I don’t have a permanent employment contract with the company-
My message was more about my fear that those Rovio associates I’ve bonded warmly with over the years would distance themselves from me because of this controversy. I’m very fortunate to have their understanding and the fair, critical eye of the fandom-
I am still very much a Brand Advisor. But yes, I don’t work for Rovio. My Ruby design is there, but that’s all. Everything I do whether fan art or personal artwork does not represent Rovio’s thoughts or direction-
Perhaps that makes the documentation made against me a bit ironic, because in truth… my sphere of influence in the franchise isn’t as large as it may seem. Thank you for reading, and once again, I apologize for any misunderstanding. ❤️🫂
