The Forwards Question With the fixtures for a lot of teams switching up ahead of GW8, we compare four top forward options to help you pick the right one: Pedro vs Bowen vs Woltemede vs Mateta

Image in tweet by The FPL Bois

Points (last 3 GWs): 6 vs 20 vs 15 vs 10 G: 2 vs 3 vs 3 vs 2 A: 3 vs 0 vs 0 vs 0 xG/90: 0.24 vs 0.12 vs 0.57 vs 0.63 xGi/90: 0.28 vs 0.19 vs 0.61 vs 0.70 Bonus: 8 vs 9 vs 4 vs 0 Ownership: 61.2% vs 7.4% vs 10.4% vs 9.9% FDR (next 5 GWs): 2.4 vs 2.6 vs 3 vs 3.2

Joao Pedro has been quiet lately but holds the best fixtures among forwards. 3 of the next 5 are against bottom 7 xGC sides from the last four GWs, starting with a leaky NFO defence, a perfect bounce-back fixture for the Brazilian.

Bowen is in good touch with 2 goals in his last 3 games and just 7.4% ownership makes him a nice differential. However, he’s overperforming his xG, his xG/90 isn’t great, and West Ham sit bottom for xG over the last 3 GWs.

Woltemade is in fine form with 3 goals in his last 4 games and just 10.4% ownership makes him a solid differential. However, his upcoming fixtures are tricky (FDR 3) while Newcastle are 10th for xG.

Mateta has strong underlying stats & is underperforming his xG, with just 1 goal in his last 3. Palace look like a different team this season - 2nd for xG and top for big chances. With good fixtures till GW15 (bar Arsenal) and <10% ownership, returns are due.

The Bois Picks: Mateta > Pedro > Woltemede > Bowen

Get Lacroix or Munoz? With their terrific start to the season, Palace defenders are high up on the list for FPL managers. One of the most curious decisions leading up to GW8, is to choose among Lacroix and Munoz. Let's dive into the stats to see how they have fared so far:

Lacroix (Ā£5.1m) Points: 30 G: 0 A: 1 xG: 0.30 xA: 0.16 DEFCON per 90: 10.29 Ownership: 4.1% Munoz (Ā£5.6m) Points: 36 G: 1 A: 1 xG: 0.84 xA: 1.17 DEFCON per 90: 7.43 Ownership: 12.7%

The upcoming fixtures are against BOU, ARS, BRE, BHA & WOL. We feel this is quite tricky because while there is plenty of scope for clean sheets with their defensive solidity, it remains to be seen how much they'll score against very good defensive units like BOU and ARS.

If you need a defender who is likely to return most weeks, Muñoz is the better bet. If you want to save some budget (£0.5m is a lot in FPL) for more potential upside, Lacroix is attractive as a differential.

The Bois Pick: We're leaning towards MuƱoz, but the difference is very little as Lacroix is not a bad shout at all.

Bruno: Hold or Sell? With constant questions about how his game gets affected playing in a deeper role in the 3-4-3 system, Bruno has managed to still get 28 points so far this season with 2G. Here's our take on whether he needs to stay in or leave your FPL teams:

Perhaps, the most surprising thing apart from him missing two penalties, is that he hasn't got an assist yet, despite accumulating an xA of 1.3. His DEFCON numbers are top notch (10.64 per 90). He will continue to create chances, and the returns will just be around the corner.

United have a tough fixture in GW8 vs LIV, but the fixture difficulty will turn around GW10 & if United regains form in time for that fixture run, Bruno will be at the forefront of everything good that United will do. Despite the apprehensions, he continues to be a HOLD for us.

Sarr vs Enzo vs Reijnders Points (last 3 GWs): 18 vs 12 vs 14 G: 3 vs 3 vs 1 A: 1 vs 2 vs 2 xG/90: 0.61 vs 0.55 vs 0.15 xGi/90: 0.67 vs 0.62 vs 0.22 BPs: 6 vs 3 vs 2 Ownership: 6.6% vs 14.9% vs 32.7% FDR (next 5 games): 3.2 vs 2.4 vs 3.4

Sarr has impressed with returns in 4 of his 5 appearances this season. His xGI/90 of 0.67 stands out, and at just 6.6% ownership he’s a massive differential, pivotal in a Palace attack that’s created the most big chances so far.

Enzo started the season brightly with 3 goals and 2 assists, ranking 4th in the league for xGI. Set to remain on penalties (for now) and with a great fixture run over the next 5 GWs, he looks a smart mid-priced pick with multiple routes to points.

Reijnders started the season brightly but has just 1 return in his last 6 games. Still, he’s the highest-scoring City midfielder, passes the eye test, and remains a cheap route into their attack, however fixtures are not easy till GW12

The Bois Picks: Sarr > Enzo > Reijnders

Time for Saka or get Eze? With fixtures turning, Arsenal assets are firmly on the radar. Their defence has been elite, but consistent attacking returns have been harder to find. With Saka back fit & Eze getting minutes under his belt, it’s time to assess who offers more value.

Image in tweet by The FPL Bois

Saka vs Eze xGi/90: 0.70 vs 0.50 G: 2 vs 0 A: 0 vs 3 Ownership: 10.3% vs 13.5% Price: 9.9m vs 7.6m

While Eze is cheaper and Odegaard’s injury could hand him more minutes, Saka still looks the more reliable pick. He is on corners and set pieces which are Arsenal’s key strengths. With CL rotations expected, Eze could still see managed minutes despite his form.

The Bois Pick: Saka
