this tier list is going around the cs careers discord a lot, how accurate is this
@JustinLau04 I had a professor at NYU pulling north of 2m in salary/bonus at HRT on their core infra team. Easily god tier. Ironically, it’s easier to start your own company or join a series b startup and make intergenerational wealth off the equity than get a job at some of these cos.
@Justin_Halford_ That’s what I thought too. These companies filter out candidates so much to the point where it’s probably easier to get into YC and make a successful startup
@JustinLau04 is this based on base comp or something 😭
@shayaan_azeem bro i have no clue lol i didn’t make it
@JustinLau04 looks like a quant made it
@JustinLau04 This appears to be a psyop by NY finance firms to try and convince CS majors to think they’re are cool to work at instead of going to tech firms.
@JustinLau04 it’s sad that all the top “cs careers” are quant which have nothing to do with building things or adding value, id rather have big tech be on top than this
@JustinLau04 superb bait sir excellent work just excellent
@JustinLau04 Transcendent tier 🎰
@JustinLau04 The lion doesn’t concern himself with ego lists
@JustinLau04 Lol at seeing a bunch of hedge funds above OpenAI. Nonsense
@JustinLau04 Have you all been cooked by grade inflation so much that you need five levels above an A+, which should be defined as *whatever* is at the top?
@JustinLau04 > quant firms at the top it’s over for people who actually love technology
@JustinLau04 anthropic and openai multiple levels down from mf arrowstreet 🤣
@JustinLau04 Kill yourself speedrun any % tier list
@JustinLau04 pointing out that gh and linkedin are microsoft
@JustinLau04 yeah no way am I believing this site is B+ you can just get fired randomly from your job 😭
@JustinLau04 i feel like every college freshman wants to break into quant but doesn’t actually know what they do. i wasn’t any different. i got the offer but it took 6 rounds of interviews to realize i don’t wanna spend the rest of my life working on something I couldn’t care less about.
@JustinLau04 A bit skeptical of arrowstreet being up there from a comp standpoint.
@JustinLau04 This ranking is overly financialized, a bunch of finance companies at the top, “an octopus on the face of the world”. Take your talent and build some real shit in the world, not high speed trading.
@JustinLau04 Am*zon has only their selves to blame for this (for returning everyone to the office and not being perk maxxers specifically)
@JustinLau04 Bridgewater lmao
@JustinLau04 lol
@JustinLau04 wells fargo and applovin should probably seitch spots
@JustinLau04 viral
@JustinLau04 At the current stage of capital one, I would lower it more
@JustinLau04 Looks like bs tbh
@JustinLau04 This might be accurate for entry level jobs.
@JustinLau04 Jump lets you train bjj at the office
@JustinLau04 damn this blew the fuck up
@JustinLau04 @julrach is straight outta two sigma 👀
@JustinLau04 the irony of prestige is that best companies to work at would never be on lists like this purpose wise but also financially: tc variance in companies on this list is something like 10x meanwhile joining early a great startup and pushing it to ipo would be easily 100x
@JustinLau04 who originally made this ?
@JustinLau04 Having A in the center is dumb. A should be second to God tier. F and F- and Avoid should be at the bottom.
@JustinLau04 doordash in A+ immediately invalidates whatever axis this has
