@AngloSouthern If you can find a way to show that the best way to love your neighbor (and to bear each others burdens and to lay down your life for your friends, etc.etc.) is to own them, then you might have a case here. But I don't think you have a case here.

@AngloSouthern @mrdavidrowe Agree. We must remember that the law adapts to material conditions (to use a Marxist term). If God had banned slavery altogether, it would have meant civilizational suicide for ancient Israel. I bet our descendants will say we were "evil" for having human waste collectors.
