its finally happening
Btw grimmsnarl is the best thing to come out of sw/sh. That’s it that’s the tweet
@DarkTypeDaedra Sword and Shield was actually good I'll stabd by that.
@DarkTypeDaedra How in about ten years people will be talking about how Sw/Sh were the peak of the franchise like what happened to B/W?
@DarkTypeDaedra Having played SwSh after playing Arceus & SV, I was surprised by how pretty it was! On the flip side though, I thought it was the most boring game of the bunch. 😅 Someone said SV had soul but no polish and SWSh had polish but no soul.
@DarkTypeDaedra It’s so weird. I been called all kinds of names cuz I said SwSh and LGPE were th best switch games. I stand on that.
@DarkTypeDaedra Good thing I loved the game before all the fucky haters became lovers. Oh the Gen V cycle how I miss you. Next theyll be saying S/V was ahead of its time and never that bad.
@DarkTypeDaedra Eh even back at release people praised how nice the routes and towns look. The issue there is that the routes are 20 feet long and the most important town is the one they didn't finish.
@DarkTypeDaedra That's not even a hot take SWSH always looked good because of the cel shading, what looks like shit is Scarlet and violet and ZA because they look like the forgot to stylize the game after rendering the models.
@DarkTypeDaedra No its not, no one is getting nostalgic for swsh, its a terrible game
@DarkTypeDaedra Routes always looked good and I think this should have been kept as the art direction for buildings and the outside in general, the wild area was rushed and lacked good design, and everyone decided to focus on the horrid damn trees
@DarkTypeDaedra I always found swsh pretty. Probably the best looking pokemon game on switch in my opinion. But the story is dumb and the region is boring unfortunately.😔
@DarkTypeDaedra The mean issues were the wild area and the 10 meter draw distance
@DarkTypeDaedra In all fairness this ain’t new. The biggest calls people would make on SwSh’s visuals were within the Wild Area. Kinda makes it clear that TPC saw the hype behind open-world games like BOTW and pushed GF into making games that featured those areas before they knew how to optimize
@DarkTypeDaedra the pokemon cycle game releases, people shit on game and call it one of the worst pokemon games, 5 ish years pass, everyone suddenly agrees said game is good
@DarkTypeDaedra I hate Sword and Shield with a burning passion so I can confirm that complaints about the more refined areas such as towns didn't really happen much. It was more about Wild Areas and stuff like character/pokemon animations and some of the more boring routes
@DarkTypeDaedra this is what gives me hope for my 13 page dissertation on why swsh's story and themes are actually amazing that I've been wanting to make into a video essay. maybe now I won't get completely clowned on for daring to think swsh is good, and for it being in my top 3...🙏
@DarkTypeDaedra now the real test is will people be talking the same about scarlet and violet
@DarkTypeDaedra Sword and shield was good but the story was ass but the mechanics were really good
@DarkTypeDaedra The SW/SH switch up happened quicker than i expected tbh.
@DarkTypeDaedra i got shield on launch and never hated it. knew its postgame could of done better. never expect me to switch up on scarlet tho i hate 90% of its new dex i hate its story its chars its map and 2/3 of the starters Mega hater till i die of gen 9
@DarkTypeDaedra SwSh are artistically good, except Wild Area for obvious reasons. Still the only Pokémon game I would never play again
@DarkTypeDaedra I love revisionism I love shitting on games for years I love only being positive about those games once new games come out that I want to shit on
@DarkTypeDaedra It doesn’t look good but still looks better than LA, BDSP, SV and ZA. Unfortunately Let’sGo is the best looking mainline game for the switch
@DarkTypeDaedra Tbf I feel like pokemon swsh discourse has always basically been: "See how bland it looks" *shows wild zone* "Actually, the game looks amazing" *shows random city*
@DarkTypeDaedra I don't think anyone was denying on release that certain selected ('curated?') areas were incredibly pretty probably more than the entire rest of the series (plus character customisation) BUT the majority of areas do Not look good and.. just about everything else about the game
@DarkTypeDaedra I distinctly remember people only really being critical of the open world areas.
@DarkTypeDaedra ive been waiting
@DarkTypeDaedra I was gifted sword + expansion pass hardcopy. It has literally changed my life. I picked up a new 3ds all the 3ds games, got a flashcart of the DS games, all the switch games. Make Pokemon content on YT.
@DarkTypeDaedra the game had aegislash +10 points 10/10
@DarkTypeDaedra If only the gameplay wasn't some of the least fun in the series
@DarkTypeDaedra Legit liked sword and shield so much more than Scarlet violet still..
@DarkTypeDaedra Been on this train since the beginning! I was extremely disappointed to find out the following Pokemon games wouldn’t build on the SwSh style
@DarkTypeDaedra Outside of the wild areas the game genuinely doesn’t look bad. Probably the best visuals/art direction of any of the 3D games
@DarkTypeDaedra It’s absolutely crazy to me that sword and shield nostalgia is starting like these games are going to be 6 years old 😭 where did the time go
@DarkTypeDaedra Kids these days😂
@DarkTypeDaedra It actually been happening but it's also for the parts of the game that makes sense, notice how these are the routes which were actually fairly well done design wise vs the wild area
