There seems to be a belief amongst the average Nigerian Youth that if they can make enough NOISE about ANYTHING on Social Media, the outside world would see it & come to "save" them or "help" them resolve it. That belief is based on crass IGNORANCE of how the World works...

So, they have all become Online Journalists, making videos of practically EVERYTHING & posting on Social Media, sometimes tagging Trump, the UN etc. Someone turns a road median into her kitchen to cook food & give out for free. She doesn't seem to understand that it's ILLEGAL...

When the Law Enforcement Officers came to stop her, she resorted to making videos & posting online to "Show the World" how "Wicked & Evil" her Country's Government is. On Monday, a lady from EiE (Enough is Enough) went to place some flowers at the Lekki Toll Gate. Why?

To commemorate the 5th Year Anniversary of the "Massacre". She KNEW there were Security Men present at the Toll Gate. She KNEW her action would PROVOKE a REACTION. She did it anyway- & had it filmed for Social Media. Their narrative is ALWAYS "See what THEY are doing to US!"...

Same narrative with the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow Protest: it was just to PROVOKE a REACTION from the Government to "Show the World" how THEY are treating US, not necessarily to FREE anybody. It's always an "US against THEM" narrative. That is why they believed some fables in 2020...

"If you continue to Protest for 30 days, the UN will intervene- it's in the UN Constitution!" They have NEVER seen such a Constitution (the UN doesn't have one) but they BELIEVED it. "The Police won't shoot you if you're holding the National Flag & singing the National Anthem!"

They outsource their "salvation" to Foreign Powers, thinking they are important to them. It NEVER crosses their minds that these folks have their own problems: why would they leave those problems to come save YOU? Are YOU really THAT important to Trump or the United Nations?

People who don't have any capacity to THINK. Very SHALLOW in the Thinking Department but very DEEP in the Emotion Department. I saw some posts yesterday, claiming the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow Protest was "successful". Now, how did they rate SUCCESS? They want Nnamdi Kanu freed...

He has NOT been freed. But they say their Protest was a SUCCESS? I guess the success was that the Protest held in the first place: & they posted videos for the World to see. The Protest was an end in itself, Nnamdi Kanu just gave you a REASON to VENT. Y'all will be fine... 😊

@harrydaniyan And an exaggerrated view of the power of social media in influencing certain outcomes, such as legal matters.
