Amount of love given to Danya post-mortem is unprecedented. I can't recall anything of the kind. But here is the problem - where all of you were when Danya was alive and unwell? I am not talking now about stepping in when he was accused. Although it is a separate important
@EmilSutovsky Idk why and how is he is the head of the largest chess governing body of chess? He’s asking other, weather they help danny or not but did you? We haven’t seen anything if you nor danny never mentioned. I know only and main cause is vlad.
@EmilSutovsky Kramnik has been bullying one player after another for years and you are complicit for not doing anything. People may have problems or be in a rough spot but it's the bully that pushes them off the ledge. And that's all. There is nothing else. Now do the only thing that matters
@EmilSutovsky you understand Danya himself said many times he had numerous GMs and friends and fans reaching out and supporting him throughout and even leading up to the end. He himself acknowledged he let the trolls and bullies get to him. This is more complicated than, if only someone had
@EmilSutovsky I think there are some similarities between Danya’s case and Anna Rudolph. I was watching this video of her from 11 month ago and i could not but think of Naroditsky. Mind health is something to take very seriously! https://youtu.be/X01IjjxYQjs?s...
@EmilSutovsky This is a normal response to the situation. Don't let these liberal tell you otherwise. Its a bunch of people now starting to speak up but hasn't been there for him at the least. Its despicable. Opportunists.
@EmilSutovsky How to have 0 self-awareness 1o1
@EmilSutovsky Whoever your PR guy is needs to make you apologize for this because it is in horrendously bad taste, and somehow you don’t realize that. But you won’t. Go fuck yourself, you corporate mouthpiece. Chess will pass FIDE by. And it’s bureaucratic political bullshit like this that
@EmilSutovsky For those who don’t have time to read, all this text is just a way of saying this: « You all pretend to love him, but never supported him when he was down. I was closer to him than all of you because i talked to him a lot and invited him a couple of times ». Emil you are a
@EmilSutovsky Extremely thoughtless words. Go fuck yourself. Chess will move beyond FIDE soon and it’s been a long time coming.
@EmilSutovsky >be emil sutovsky >be ceo of fide > kramnik goes of the rails > get so many complaints > do nothing > tragedy strikes > whole chess community mourns and rages > write a post asking where was these people during his hard times > ignoring your own inaction
@EmilSutovsky somebody fire this man please
@EmilSutovsky Perhaps it would be beneficial to look up the number of complaints FIDE has received concerning Kramnik’s crusade over the past 3 years and the figures who raised those complaints and address why you never acted upon those? Guess you find it easier to just blame his friends.
@EmilSutovsky Where was FIDE? What was FIDE doing ? What was @EmilSutovsky doing? How do you know that the friends didn't tried to help him out? That's outright unfair and unacceptable statement coming from the CEO of @FIDE_chess
@EmilSutovsky The organization you lead allowed Kramnik to run wild for two years, in blatant violation of FIDE's Code of Ethics. You looked the other way, implicitly enabling him. If anyone had the power to stop this it was you, and now you have the audacity to point fingers? Kindly fuck off
@EmilSutovsky I'm usually partial to your tweets, but this is wrong. In your official capacity, you should be expediting an inquiry into Kramnik's behaviour; not asking where everyone was for all this time. Thousands of people said all along that Kramnik was hurting Danya. You didn't listen.
@EmilSutovsky My brother in Christ. You are FIDE's CEO. Why haven't you done anything? Isn't false acusation covered in FIDE's Ethics? Act, man. This is going for so long, do something before another tragedy happens. It's already too late.
@EmilSutovsky Instead of asking what did others do, you can ask yourself, what can you do to prevent this from happening next time. Pointing fingers in public to his friends, without knowing how involved they were is trying to deviate attention. You can only judge yourself.
@EmilSutovsky are you being serious. holy hell. you are the CEO of FIDE. an official word of defense from the apex organization and a reprimand to the bullies who clearly were in violation of code of conduct would have carried much more in weight-- something GM navarra also told you.
@EmilSutovsky Oh my word well you, being the CEO of FIDE, could’ve also done something when Danya was alive and unwell, YOU could’ve stepped up during Kramnik‘s witchunting. You are blatantly ignoring your own inaction. Not to mention the rating deduction as well…
@EmilSutovsky "I know we did absolutely nothing about Kramnik's baseless and dangerous crusade as the biggest body in chess even though I knew Danya was in a bad place mentally, but where were YOU???" Come on man this is ridiculous, have some shame
@EmilSutovsky Others could have supported.. yes.. but the feeling of the organisation that could ACTUALLY do something with it, not helping or taking action, must have left Danya feeling so helpless in that situation. Support is one thing but the injustice and powerlessness is way stronger.
@EmilSutovsky You ask "where all of you were when Danya was alive and unwell?" so I ask where was FIDE? Surely it's time to accept your responsibility instead of deflecting the blame. It's over a year ago when I challenged Kramnik on X over his treatment of Danya. I spoke up, why didn't FIDE?
@EmilSutovsky why fide did nothing to handle the issue between kramnik and danya? why fide did nothing to hande the issue between carlsen and niemann? sorry but these kind of allegation should've been handled by fide not by chesscom or social networks
@EmilSutovsky you never disappoint, always finding the most idiotic thing to post
@EmilSutovsky This post seems to come from a misunderstanding of how social relationships and mental health issues work. It is hard to evaluate, hard to find ways to help, and you're often in no position to intervene. It is quite possible to have 9999 friends and still think life worthless.
@EmilSutovsky You speak with emotion now, Emil, but where were you when Danya was struggling? You saw he wasn’t himself, yet stayed silent. Why didn’t you, as FIDE’s CEO, take a stand against @VBkramnik when it mattered? Silence back then cost more than words now.
@EmilSutovsky Come on, Emil. Ever since Kramnik started using his reputation to bully anyone who’s better with a mouse than his aging hands, players and fans mocked him, all to protect the chess community and prevent tragedies like Danya’s case. The only one that did nothing was FIDE.
@EmilSutovsky We still have no idea what happened to Danya. I was a huge fan and miss him dearly but he himself always cautioned his chat to hold judgement on people we thought were cheating. It is clear that Kramnik caused Danya suffering but until we have more information I’m not with this.
@EmilSutovsky He had an incredible friend group and support in Charlotte. We don't know what even happened, yet you're implying this came about as a result of lack of genuine support. Highly speculative and likely wrong. Where is FIDE after over a year of slanderous unfounded accusations?
@EmilSutovsky Why didn't FIDE act as Kramnick was acting more and more deranged? Good to know that you are thinking of acting now. Of course you are not a court of justice - but you are the governing body of the sport and could have shown your disapproval emphatically.
@EmilSutovsky 1/2 - It’s understandable to feel sadness and anger over such a heartbreaking loss. It’s right to reflect on how we can better support those we love in the future, but encouraging those who cared about him to feel guilt or shame only deepens the cycle of loneliness and pain.
@EmilSutovsky Respectfully, holding the community responsible, risks deepening divisions and alienating those who cared most about Daniel (and chess). A constructive path forward would be a shared FIDE–community commitment to protect players from harassment and character attacks. Not posts
@EmilSutovsky I do feel like you often get a lot of unfair criticism, but this is such a tasteless and disrespectful post. Do you think his friends aren't asking themselves what else they could have done? The feeling of guilt is probably eating them alive. Who are you to judge them?
@EmilSutovsky If anyone could do anything to address Kramnik's insane accusations, it was YOU. THE CEO of THE chess organization. And now you have the gall to assume his friends and family didn't do anything to help? Have some shame.
@EmilSutovsky What research have you done to proclaim that no-one did anything? He got lots of love in his Twitch/YouTube comments. What are you expecting millions of people he touched with his commentary to do? You're the one in the position of power to do something about it, and did nothing
@EmilSutovsky I did my part. 9 months ago
