@qLxke_ one time i was trying to watch a movie on one of those piracy sites, and someone edited the movie to just loop the first 15 minutes over and over, adding like 1 minute more of the actual movie every time. I got through two and a half loops before realizing it wasn’t stylistic
@qLxke_ first time I watched Parasite I thought it was a supernatural horror thriller (idk why) and just was thinking wow they’re really building the suspense before the spooky stuff starts happening — most edge of my seat movie watching experience i’ve ever had
@qLxke_ I tried illegally watching The Social Network once, and it started out with 9/11 and firefighters trying to help. About an hour in, I was like ‘wow, 9/11 must have had a really big influence on Mark Zuckerberg’, only to learn I’d been watching World Trade Centre the entire time.

@qLxke_ I watched Children of Men at a friend's house. At the end of the movie there were explosions that go off near the MC. The speakers hooked up to the tv turn off. We watched the last 10 minutes of the movie thinking the MC went deaf and the silence was an artistic choice.

@qLxke_ I had the opposite effect while watching squid game. When they spoke English, I thought I was watching on English dub, until i checked and realised no, they just had terrible voice actors dub over the VIPs
@qLxke_ I watched the entire native American episode of What If with bugged audio,dialog super quiet but background/effects were normal, thought it was a style choice since they spoke some specific native dialect and had subtitles Didn't realize until Dr Strange showed up at the end

@qLxke_ When I first watched the movie Unfriended, I did so through On Demand. The image kept glitching out, abruptly moving to the side and back, etc., and I thought that was meant to be the computer fucking up. Found out midway through the cable box was having an error.
@qLxke_ One time I was watching a pirate copy of "Spirited away" and, for some reason, it froze on a shot of the ceiling., while the audio continued playing. I remained there for 3 minutes thinling it was such a bold narrative choice. Still think of it.
@qLxke_ I went to Pixar's "Wall-E" on release and someone in the projection booth mixed up the order of the reels. The movie started with him going to space and meeting the human crew, then an extended flashback of life on Earth + meeting Eve, followed by the big finale back on the ship.
@qLxke_ I didn't realize that I started watching Murderbot on episode 3 and found it interesting how they'd started the story like that, deep into action, but it still made perfect sense. I considered the first two episodes as flashback when I saw my mistake.
@qLxke_ When i was watching Man on Fire with VLC player, I accidentally slowed it down the x0.67 speed at the end around when he gets shot, and I thought it all being slower and slightly distorted speaking was an artistic choice to emphasize his dying state

@qLxke_ I watched the Hustler (1961) on a dodgy steaming site and didn't realise a gambling ad was playing it's nursey rhym style music over it. I thought it was a brilliant choice to use over the pre credit scene. Only realised when the scene after opening credits still had the music.
@qLxke_ I watched the entirety of Dogville (2003) (a 3hr long movie) at like 2 FPS and I thought it was an odd but interesting stylistic choice. Turns out Mubi just had a very bad connection that day
@qLxke_ Medici has different subtitles for each series, which Netflix lists alphabetically w/S3 coming first. This is how, on first watching it, my ex and I were impressed by the in media res of the opening episode til we realised the error.

@qLxke_ I was listening to one of those long Miles Davis tracks once and the file must have been corrupted because it keep repeating the same 5 seconds over and over again, but it took me about 10 minutes to realise, I just thought the band we're getting into a really deep groove.
@qLxke_ reminds me of the samurai shodown evo clip where two guys are doing nothing for like 20 seconds and the commentators are like "this is what this game is all about, slow patient neutral" before they realize that somebody's controller just disconnected
