OKAY so someone at Konami watches my streams FOR SURE! A couple days ago I went to the OCG Database because I took a call where I found out Cicada King's 2nd effect is written like a Trigger effect while being a Quick Effect. The OCG database had it listed as a Trigger effect.
The localized database run by @ygorganization also had it listed as a trigger effect merely days ago as it is just a direct translation of the OCG Database. SO every official source out there had Cicada King's 2nd effect listed as a trigger effect rather than a quick.
For clarification, the reason why this matters is that if Cicada King is a quick effect it would say "(Quick effect)" or "During either player's turn". It being a quick effect would allow it to chain to cards whereas if it were a trigger it would activate in a new chain instead.
But NOW a few days after my stream the OCG Database has changed to list Cicada King's 2nd effect as a "triggered instant" effect (which would translate to quick effect) AND YGOrg's database has ALSO changed Cicada King's entry listing it as a quick effect!
The funniest part about all of this is that both YGorg's Database and the OCG Database list when the last update was made to the page, but here neither has been updated. YGOrg's also lists when they make a change independently from when the OCG does and it still lists 2020.
Somehow, someone somewhere watched my stream/video and that caused the official database to change, it's the only possible logical explanation! COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT!!
@TheDistantCoder would i be correct in saying that were this to function exactly as written, it just *wouldnt* function? as a "when" trigger that responds to an activation, wouldnt it always miss timing if it had to go on a new chain as the last thing to occur would always be an effect resolution
