Comey case. Last night, @statesunited, a number of democracy scholars, and I filed an amicus brief to dismiss the indictment against James Comey. We supplement Comey's briefing that the prosecution is entirely politically motivated -- not motivated by facts, law, and justice.

@stephen_richer @statesunited He lied to congress. End of story

@davec260 @statesunited But that’s the thing… 4 separate investigations concluded he didn’t.

@stephen_richer @statesunited I’m going to file an amicus denouncing the proliferation of irrelevant and self-important amici

@stephen_richer @statesunited So, you’re a criminal too? Good to know.

@stephen_richer @statesunited Communists and scammers protect their own

@stephen_richer @statesunited of course you did 🤦‍♂️smh

@stephen_richer @statesunited Remember when you as Maricopa County Recorder used taxpayer resources to politically target @KariLake --- that was far more political persecution than this

@stephen_richer @statesunited Why are you trying to deny the American people the ability to hold their public officials accountable? Why didn't you add in all the documents that DNI Gabbard has found and declassified? You forgot to add that Erik Siebert's father-in-law is the God Father of one of Comey's

@stephen_richer @statesunited And now, there is no doubt left.

@stephen_richer @statesunited The guy is a guilty as hell. Weaponizing the FBI against conservatives.

@stephen_richer @statesunited Have you changed your registration to Democrat yet?

@stephen_richer @statesunited Lawfare is a helluva thing. Perhaps Elias and Eisen should have been a little more deliberate before weaponizing it. Pendulum swings and all. Maybe those dispensing the shekels will save you an ocean front lot in Gaza City.

@stephen_richer @statesunited Good luck with all of this! I suppose if I was in your position, and I was an attorney, I would throw a Hail Mary as well.

@stephen_richer @statesunited I am pretty sure we all saw him lie to Congress. He also supposedly broke the law by authorizing leaks of classified material. I personally woukd like to watch the court case and give Mr. Comey his day in court.

@stephen_richer @statesunited He confessed. Sounds like Comey has many willing accomplices.

@stephen_richer @statesunited Stephen best hope he doesn’t end up in prison along with Norm Eisen.

@stephen_richer @statesunited Amicus brief, all the legal weight of a tik tok post

@stephen_richer @statesunited Are you going to represent him when he’s in prison?

@stephen_richer @statesunited 😂 good luck with that 🖕😂🖕

@stephen_richer @statesunited He’s going to prison

@stephen_richer @statesunited One liner evidence for simple-minded citizens. Love his convincing strategy.

@stephen_richer @statesunited He’s going to prison

@stephen_richer @statesunited Additionally, have you guys seen the television ad he took out some weeks back? The one where he boldly welcomed the trial. He truly wants to tell his side of the story and clear his name. Leave him alone and let him do it.

@stephen_richer @statesunited Possibly ridiculous lay question here: Is there a mechanism allowing defendants charged in these cases to assure these cases go to trial? Indictments alone carries consequences. When a prosecutor cuts and runs -can a defendant say: not so fast, let’s have it out? If not, why?

@stephen_richer @statesunited We need principled conservatives like you back so badly. I hope you are organizing to take back the party from maga

@stephen_richer @statesunited Comey is the one who said “bring on the trial” but even if he hadn’t had welcomed it… the fact that a grand jury indicted him should hold merit with the scholars…. Unless, the scholars only support an indictment if it’s a politician they don’t like.

@stephen_richer @statesunited I guess you couldn’t get 41 security advisors to sign it?
