1. Contest "The Desert Perpetual" was the perfect difficulty for a day one. Contest modes should not just be difficult, they should push even the top 0.1% to their limits.
2. Season of the Haunted, from a content standpoint, was one of the better seasons we've had. Having 3 missions with 2 variants each, one of the best dungeons in the game and a seasonal patrol space was so great imo. Especially the patrol space, felt very innovative.
3. I think they should move all the budget that goes into producing exotic missions and focus on making a smaller scale dungeon to release each year (on top of the larger scale expansion dungeon)
4. The catalyst quests for most dungeons are very, very tedious and I wish I didn't have to do them.
5. Raid seals should require you to do a flawless completion.
6. The year 1 Vanguard, Crucible and Trials ornaments should be earnable again. Screw the exclusivity. I own the crucible set, so its not me being salty about not having them. I just think they're cool and more people should have access to them.
7. Gambit is one of the most fun modes in the game when you don't have a bunch of people in your ear telling you it is shit.
8. There should be a higher level of emphasis on patrol. (maybe not to the same extent as D2Y1 tho) I miss going to destinations that felt alive and doing lost sectors, patrols, public events and adventures.
9. The game is never gonna feel as good as it did back when you and your friends had more free time and less responsibilities.
10. The 4 weeks of Pantheon was one of, if not the best period of time in the game (at least that I played, took a break from Warmind to Season of Dawn).
11. Epic Epoptes is one of the best designed encounters in the game.
12. There should be mods akin to warmind cells and elemental wells which deepen the buildcrafting of the game. They were removed to simplify the game, but I feel like it massively hurt the depth of buildcrafting.
13. Crafting is a good system which was implemented poorly imo (common theme). It made no sense making raid weapons craftable, some of the most replayable content in the game and it's lifespan was so heavily limited by crafting. Seasonal weapons make sense to be craftable,
14. Deep Stone Lullaby is overrated (still a very good track but there's better ones, like Eden.)
15. Ghosts of the Deep is one of the best dungeons in the game when you don't have a bunch of people in your ear screaming about the traversal.
16. I'd much rather get more frequent subclass updates (new aspects and fragments) than receive new exotic armor pieces.
17. I wish the Eververse armor was more grounded in the visual identity of Destiny, but I feel like we're a bit too far gone now.
18. Mercury was my favorite destination.
19. Bungie should go back and add unique weapons and armor to Shattered Throne and Pit of Heresy. They're dungeons and deserve unique loot. (๐จ Lily Tosthage)
20. Deep Stone Crypt is the perfect beginner's raid. There's enough roles that people can learn about mechanics, and the mechanics aren't so complicated they'd overwhelm a new raider. VoG and Root are too simple and don't give an accurate enough picture of modern raiding.
21. Solo Ops could be a very fleshed out and fun portion of the portal if they didn't slap 1000 health gates and slowdown mechanics on things. Just add legend lost sectors to the portal. ๐
22. Most exotic acquisition methods feel very soulless now. Pick it up from the kisosk, get it from the season pass etc. Exotics should feel rare or take effort to earn. Part of the fun is in the journey to earning the exotic.
23. It's a real shame that new locations don't have random matchmaking, and that Kepler doesn't have strikes or lost sectors. Feels like an empty destination.
24. Some of the latest lost sectors are too complex for what lost sectors are imo. Europa lost sectors were like perfect imo.
25. With it's own unique armor and weapon set, AVALON could've been a smaller scale dungeon. It has mechanics, 3 encounter structure, an exotic etc.
26. Beyond Light's seasons were some of the most consistently great seasons the game has seen.
27. Bounties did not need to be reinvented twice over. We should've just been able to pick them up from orbit and called it a day.
28. Bounty hoarding is fun and healthy for the game. Makes up the majority of late season content.
29. There should be more aspirational triumphs in dungeons. Imagine a solo flawless master triumph which awards you with a different emblem.
30. The Garden of Salvation tether boxes aren't broken, you're just impatient.
31. Modern exotic mission design goes against a lot of classic exotic mission design and the magic is kinda gone. Whisper, Zero Hour and to an extent Presage being hidden rather than a quest step just made it feel so much more exotic. Only one that came close recently is AVALON
32. I miss flashpoints and honestly think they should come back in some form or another. Being able to level through patrols would be fantastic.
33. Destiny 3 would not be the miracle a lot of the community thinks it would be.
34. I miss when GMs were unbelievably tough. Like the OG GMs, GM Glassway the first time round and GM Lightblade in Risen. Shoutout to @MacticsG1 for the guides getting me through some of those!
35. They should bring back emblems for getting high scores in missions. They were so sick.
36. Bungie should embrace the lowman community and add triumphs for trioing and duoing some of the raids you can do without glitches.
37. Saltagreppo gets WAY too much hate. Dude seems like such a kind person.
38. Crimson Days and The Revelry did not deserve to be gutted from the game.
39. Destiny 2 Crota is the WORST raid across both games and it isn't close.
40. Bungie should not patch speedrun tech unless it is actively breaking the game. Patching the OOBs in Vesper's was so cruel. Speedrunners and clear farmers are what keep the game alive in the driest periods.
41. Neomuna does not belong in the game. The destination completely goes against Destiny's art style and I cannot stand it.
42. Doing Riven legit is not as hard as you think it is.
43. Despite being very simple, sword week was one of the coolest mini-events Bungie has done, and they should do more mini-events like it.
44. I don't know how to feel about the Star Wars crossover DLC. Part of me thinks the game is losing its visual identity but another part of me thinks it has a lot of potential. I suppose I wish they were more subtle with the nods to the series, but I can't give a full opinion
45. I think The Witch Queen campaign is significantly better than The Final Shape campaign. The boss fights were more memorable, the missions had cooler set pieces for the most part and I just think Savathun is a cooler villain.
46. I'd love if Xivu Arath and Savathun got their own saga after the Fate Saga (if they don't end up being tied into the Fate Saga). Imagine a climactic raid against Xivu AND Savathun.
47. I desperately want Oryx to get revived by a hive ghost. From what I understand we have his body locked up in containment, I'd love a story where we get raided and his body gets stolen to revive him as a hive guardian.
48. I think strike variations from Destiny 1 were really cool and its crazy it didn't happen in Destiny 2. Imagine a Scarlet Keep variant with a Lucent Hashladun.
49. I liked Haunted Lost Sectors and don't think they should've been removed from the game.
50. Your vault is probably packed to the brim with a bunch of shit you'll never use.
51. VoG is not as good as a lot of people say it is. It is the nostalgia speaking. It doesn't deserve bonus points for being the first raid when ranking it against other raids.
52. Loadout swapping is cool and should be embraced by Bungie. Give us hotkeys to swap between loadouts.
53. We should get more enemies on the level of tormentors that pose a challenge to the player.
54. All glaives feel the exact same.
55. While the destination abilities are cool, I would much rather Bungie spend time developing the darkness subclasses which are missing abilities compared to light subclasses.
56. Gambit deserves so much more than it currently gets. We need new maps, Gambit Prime abilities and adding to the damn portal.
57. I do not care for Failsafe.
58. Trials is one of the most miserable experiences I have played in my life. I do really miss when it had a higher player population and I wasn't consistently matching people WAY better than me or cheaters.
59. The Headlong: Time Trial is one of the best things to come out of Lightfall and it's criminal that they haven't done more of these time trials with in game cosmetic rewards.
60. Ever since the resilience changes and solar 3.0, the game feels like it got way too easy. The only content that has felt REALLY challenging has been recent day ones, and solo flawless Vesper's Host on release.
