Woman who works for an American school district says she will starve without EBT food stamp payments “If it wasn't for SNAP benefits, I wouldn't be able to feed my children or myself” “I only get paid once a month. By the time I get my bills paid, I have nothing left to pay for
@WallStreetApes Instead of making fun of her for her weight perhaps realize healthy food is expensive whether on SNAP or EBT that’s a real issue. Perhaps if food wasn’t so expensive and people were paid a livable wage this wouldn’t be a conversation or a post to begin with. We are supposed to
@WallStreetApes Poor people are often fat because cheap food is low quality and fattening. I’m as conservative as anyone here, but we don’t have to be cruel in our responses. She is a mom. We’re mostly Christians on this side. At the very least, pray for her.
@WallStreetApes Why are all these people crying about their EBT obese? Something is seriously wrong with the system
@WallStreetApes why does pay frequency matter?
@WallStreetApes She needs to turn off her cell phone, internet, satellite/cable, cancel all streaming services.
@WallStreetApes That’s the brutal truth of how broken this system is. You’ve got people working full-time for school districts — literal government employees — saying they’ll starve without SNAP because their paycheck doesn’t even stretch to food. That’s not laziness, that’s a rigged economy
@WallStreetApes If a school employee can’t afford groceries, something really broken in the system…
@WallStreetApes If you have a job at a school, then why do you need EBT? When I was in high school, the janitors at my school made $60,000, although that is higher than most schools.
@WallStreetApes Is getting paid once a month legal? Did she just throw her employer under the bus too?
@WallStreetApes Teachers and staff that aren’t administrators get paid so far below the poverty line, that nobody wants to do it anymore. They get paid once a month. None of yall would be able to live like that. Especially not the ones who want to act like little shits in the comments
@WallStreetApes Seems unlikely that she is eligible for SNAP if she works for the school district and works full time. I don't have all the facts but still it seems unlikely.
@WallStreetApes Ma’am you literally have a few months of groceries stored in your body
@WallStreetApes Before criticizing, perhaps we should fully understand this lady’s situation, so that any comments can be made accurately.
@WallStreetApes Physiologically speaking, she is a fridge full of food
@WallStreetApes How does one feel comfortable or not ashamed saying that while weighing 350 pounds?
@WallStreetApes As kindly as it can be stated. This woman doesn’t need more food. She needs better choices.
@WallStreetApes I'll bet dollars to donuts this lady voted for Trump.
@WallStreetApes I raised 4 boys as a single mother and teacher. I never had food stamps
@WallStreetApes How does one become sooooooo fat with SNAP? I don’t get it, I have twins with special needs and they could get it but I don’t. I guess I’m glad I don’t because I don’t want to be that fat ever!
@WallStreetApes I worked for public schools for 4 years. I made $15 but by the time they took insurance, taxes and “mandatory retirement fund” my take home for 45+ hours a week was $480. That is not survivable.
@WallStreetApes Seems like you could go a couple of months and be ok. How large are the kids?
@WallStreetApes She doesn't look like she is starving by any means.
@WallStreetApes She’s overweight because our food supply has turned to garbage. Empty junk ingredients that are inflammatory. As for the working, real wages haven’t increased in decades. The middle class gets screwed.
@WallStreetApes She could starve for 6 months and be healthier than she is now. I bet her kids could go without some meals too
@WallStreetApes Who helped our ancestors?
@WallStreetApes Looks like she can afford to miss a meal or ten.
@WallStreetApes Try volunteering in a foodbank. At least half the people are morbidly obese. All complaining that SNAP doesn't give them enough food Some walk out with close to 100lbs of food a week on top of their SNAP benefits - ALL of this taxpayer funded
@WallStreetApes EBT recipient COMPLAINS that she can no longer afford McDonald’s and Starbucks, because the government took away her food stamps.. The entitlement is crazy.
@WallStreetApes "By the time I get my bills paid, I have nothing left to pay for food and other basic needs." Shouldn't food and basic needs be the first thing you spend your money on?
@WallStreetApes Hmm… not a good example of going without enough food…
@WallStreetApes Since all these payments are electronic, is it not possible to ensure they only apply to approved healthy options? Nobody is saying she can’t buy junk food, but she couldn’t pay for it with EBT? Wouldn’t that solve about 90% of the issue?
@WallStreetApes It'll her a good 6 months to starve
@WallStreetApes if she maintains hydration, she probably won't starve for 4 years.
@WallStreetApes tired of this
@WallStreetApes Healthy food IS affordable.
