Once I was at dinner in NYC with a great screenwriter. As we ate, he checked his phone a couple of times, furious. Turned out someone was editing his Wikipedia entry in ways he found deceptive. Couldn't do a damn thing. I'll use Grokipedia now. I try not to rely on these tools
@walterkirn I noticed this description says nothing about Stalinism, but that could be an accurate reflection of a revisionist take by those adapting it. The point is that I had to wonder.
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn The 1954 version was commissioned by the CIA. They changed the ending from what's in the book to a happy ending.
@CanariesBlue @walterkirn Kind of shocking the CIA involvement is so front and center on the Wiki page!
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn They put Poochie in Animal Farm
@walpsbh @walterkirn Haha!! The original dog from hell!
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn I think you're reading too much in to it and should wait and watch the film and see if the film touches on some of those points.
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn Good grief
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn I wonder if consumer excess will make the film profitable?
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn Wow @WikiBias2024 fyi
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn Be interesting to see if it includes “All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.”
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn Job description of the protagonist Winston Smith in 1984, Orwell’s other great book. “Altering historical records so that they match the current version of the Party’s narrative.”
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn Lmao
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn Who dresses you?
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn Might have to get into this tomorrow @StephenKentX
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn These commies put a cybertruck in it too lol
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn @Wikipedia is trash
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn Yikes.
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn >seth rogan lmao
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn Very Orwellian 😆
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn WTF…
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn This is unintentionally the best tribute to Animal Farm... Too meta 😃
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn *chef's kiss* The irony of how Orwellian this is...
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn Looking at that cast, it's likely that description of the film is accurate and they're bastardizing the book. There's no way Hollywood wants to do a full throated anti-communist allegory.
@RalphWGoethe @walterkirn Wow...🤔
