A Figma sales rep was trying to get us to upgrade. We did a meeting but decided no, so he wrote this back (see photo). Excuse me, what? “I don’t like your answer so I went digging through your data to find info to help me make a sale”. I’m not okay with that.
@ZackKorman What on earth? @figma this is unacceptable.
@HaasOnSaaS @figma Agreed. The whole sales process was wild. Basically tried to scare us for our lack of security, overstated the problem dramatically, then this
@ZackKorman Not only is abusing impersonation crazy, he's also implying (or revealing) that security for regular figma users is unsafe?
@ian_dot_so Oh believe me he didn’t just imply that in his previous emails
@ZackKorman That's gone from potential upgrade to instant cancellation imo.
@rp1atten Yea I’m furious about the whole process. The whole thing was a scare tactic on security, just to turn around and show they have none. This is shitty
@ZackKorman Someone is getting fired
@CynicLib I hope so this rep has written some unhinged messages to us.
@ZackKorman Holy shit
@CRMullins Yea Figma should be ashamed of this.
@ZackKorman I'm sorry... WHAT??? In what world is this okay??
@Branmo_me No clue. I’m furious and this is after a series of other major red flags with this rep
@ZackKorman Or, you could have said: thank you, we'll do better next time.
@robintel What do you mean?
@ZackKorman Agreed that he shouldn’t have written this to you in this context, but reps almost always have the permissions to proxy into customers accounts, from my experience
@bondisaas I definitely don’t let them do that at Pistachio. I get a lot of places do allow it, but they shouldn’t and I’m going to criticize it. If a rep has access it should be for the purpose of helping me, ie something I’d authorize. Not this
@ZackKorman You had a quick WHAT at my WHAT?? Come again?!
@daemondr0p Yea like “so how much is the plan where you can’t do that”
@ZackKorman Leveraging telemetry or SaaS metadata to scare us into a sales convo? First, let's first look at our actual risk. Second, I'm not dealing with the account executive's team that attempted that engagement.
@HowWeLostTheWar Absolutely. The whole process has been this rep trying to scare us that our plan isn’t secure. Really aggressive stuff. And then this.
@ZackKorman I would discuss this with your legal department. This sounds like it could be a violation of your contract with them.
@PrivacyLawyerD Yea might have to, but I guess if they give reps this access they found a way to make it okay
@ZackKorman Have they wrote back yet? This is really fucked up
@renatofontes I won’t dignify it with a response. This is the second aggressive, shitty email from this rep
