Imagine if Usha had said, "I hope JD finds his way to the Hindu faith." She wouldn’t, because Hinduism doesn’t proselytize. We believe there are many paths to truth. I only wish JD had said, "I respect her faith," because that, after all, is at the heart of Christ’s teachings.

@rupasubramanya Christ did not teach us to respect false gods. With respect, you are way wrong here. He clearly taught that he, and only he, is the way, the truth and the life.

@BrockWHarrison Christ proclaimed himself the way, but he never used that as a license to insult or belittle others. Labeling Hindu gods as ‘false gods’ might make you feel righteous, but it’s not how Christ spoke to people of other beliefs. It’s possible to bear witness to one’s faith without

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Except he never insulted or belittled. He spoke the truth as a Christian man and husband. He wants his wife to be saved. That’s a good thing.

@transcended @BrockWHarrison Saved from what?

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison @grok what does the bible say on how to treat false Gods?

@Stevendiana6969 @rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison The Bible commands exclusive worship of the one true God, rejecting false gods as idols that provoke jealousy (Exodus 20:3-5; Deuteronomy 6:14-15). It instructs destroying their altars and images to avoid temptation (Deuteronomy 12:2-3) and even prescribes severe penalties for

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison You need to read the Bible.

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Jesus called a non-Israelite a Dog and said jewish leaders with children of the devil.

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Jesus traveled in India between the ages of 13-30. He didnt curse the gods when he went their. He did curse the Temple priests for taking money from the poor just like he did in Jerusalem. Jesus' white robe that he donned actually was not from Jewish tradition, but was Buddhic/

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison "I am the lord your GOD and you shall have no other gods before me". Dont tell me about My religion you disingenuous evil Idolater.

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison You're a Brown before a Christian. Repent

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison I want to remind everyone commenting here. The Pharisees were devout and believed strongly that they followed the True God and that they had the True interpretation of Scripture. their hearts were full of hate. Jesus called them "the sons of the Devil. "

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Have you read the Gospels? Are you familiar with the phrase "whited sepulchers"? Jesus sometimes used very harsh language with respect to others, especially religious authorities. By and large Jesus didn't speak to people other than Jews. He did speak to Samaritans, who

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison The Apostle Paul, whom Jesus directly appointed, respected how religious the Greeks and Romans were, and used that observation to tell them how they are worshiping false gods. This is exactly what Jesus wants.

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison lol Hindu gods are false gods. This is a fact, not an insult. You worship demons.

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Lmao, the book of John says the very opposite. Take up the sword. You are the church of Satan. Your father is Satan. Doesn't sound like he never meant to insult. Good thing you are not a Christian. You are blasphemizing christ.

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Jesus said "Scripture cannot be broken " (John 10:35). Scripture is full of denunciation of false gods.

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Explaining the truth that Hindu gods are false gods is about telling the truth. Not about "feeling" righteous. Jesus wants us to tell the truth and not lie to people.

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Context. John 4 21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour cometh, and now

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison How did insult his wife by saying he hopes she converts to Christianity? If he cared at all he would want this as opposed to the opposite based on the teachings of Christianity Where do non Christians go when they die according to the Bible? Yeah, save your hand picked Bible

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Lol that's exactly what Christ said. He totally rejected any other religion what are you on about?

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Psalms 96:5 - "For all the gods of the Gentiles are devils: but the Lord made the heavens."

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Who here is insulting or belittling others? Worshipping anyone but Christ would be false idol-ship

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Why would I listen to a heathen lecture about Christ? You have no authority.

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Sacred Healers come in all imperfect forms,we just have to be open to receive it- but also in doing so be careful of the consistently false.

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Jesus literally stood outside a temple for hours as he braided a whip specifically to beat and chase people out of the temple who weren't following his religions rules. Not only would he be fine with belittling your false gods, he would stop to make a whip and beat you.

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Sorry but no. I am an apatheist but this is incorrect at the level of theology. Apart from the fact that it is pretty irrelevant whether Jesus actually said this stuff, the Bible is pretty explicit that worship of anyone other than the one true God is false i.e. False Idols.

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison I'm sure you believe this, and I'm sure it makes you feel self-righteous, but it's just factually false.

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison Not trying to defend Christianity here but if religion A thinks religion B’s God is false, it’s a competing theology & not an insult. You can have two different theories in science and it would be the other scientist with opposing theory are stupid. So don’t take it as an insult

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison JD did not insult or belittle his wife, nor did he deny her humanity. He did exactly as Christ instructed he must do... bring as many people to the one true God, and thereby salvage their souls... especially the wife he loves and cherishes.

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” — Matthew 15:14 You serpents, you brood of vipers, how will you escape the sentence of hell? — Matthew 23:33 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! — Matthew 23:25

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison You clearly aren't familiar with some of the things Christ said to the Pharisees

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison He's not denying the humanity or sincerety of his wife's belief, he's doubting its veracity. Which is fine.

@rupasubramanya @BrockWHarrison im curious. where did Jesus speak to other people about their beliefs (im presuming you mean their faith in their religions rather than their faith in Jesus)?
