Due to an issue with the game at its core, hotfixes for specific modes, such as this one, can end up carrying over between modes. This issue I don't believe was known prior to this happening, Epic applying something like this implies to me at least that not even they knew.

This actually has likely drawn attention to that problem, and will likely get them to fix it. This issue actually may have caused performance issues or other misc problems in some cases where certain modes have certain hotfixes for things, this is not an issue unique to OG.

For WHY they reverted it? This was likely the culprit for weapons blanking frequently when switching modes, the Server-Sided anti-cheat was seeing that the user had a different, incorrect spread pattern.

Since this is a weapon related thing, it would say "hey this might be cheating", and force your shots to blank, dealing no damage. The game is SUPPOSED to not carry things like this over between modes, and in fact would frequently correct itself even during this, just not always

TLDR a likely unknown issue was caught as a result of this hotfix and will likely have to be fixed by Epic, this shotgun spread change will likely be addressed later when such is done, and then re-implemented into the game.

Admittedly they could've done an server-sided anti-cheat update to make it NOT check for this specific weapon spread option but that would be kinda silly and.. not a good idea, so yeah this was the right call for the time being Hopefully it's re-implemented and addressed soon!

@AAO23114 Yeah no this was like, completely justified Feel kinda bad for causing this indirectly, had no idea it would happen as (obviously) anti-cheat stuff isn't something we have.. any remote access to, and the game is SUPPOSED to clear per-mode hotfixes when you switch to another

@AllyJax_ I think it’s interesting how fucked up and interconnected shit is in this game 😭 they’ll fix something in br and break a completely random in uefn that won’t be fixed for 9 weeks

@AllyJax_ That Explains the clips i have seen of people shooting and no damage being applied.
