We need to revamp SNAP Now's the chance to Make America healthy again. “…If you’re on the SNAP program, you shouldn’t just get a card, it’s like giving a teenager with no responsibility a credit card, they are going to max it out. You don’t give somebody who doesn’t have a
@FarmGirlCarrie Here’s the other question I have about SNAP: recipients receive twice as much to spend on groceries as regular people who pay for their own food, plus Krogers gives SNAP discounts. Why doe they get so much money?
@14KGOP @FarmGirlCarrie We need to roll back the amount given as time goes on. There should be a termination date as well. Instead, a permanent dependency is created. We’d be better off requiring adult home schooling for decent paying jobs or simply funding child care allowing them to work.
@YearRooster @14KGOP @FarmGirlCarrie SNAP already has work requirements for Able Bodied Adults Without Dependents, limiting benefits to 3 months w/o working/training (USDA). Research shows requirements cause a large decrease in participation, not a proven increase in employment (Brookings)
@PixieKittie_ @14KGOP @FarmGirlCarrie What does any of that have to do with my post?
@YearRooster @14KGOP @FarmGirlCarrie Ur original post demanded a termination date & work reqs for SNAP. My response stated those already exist for most non-disabled adults & ur desired policies don't actually increase employment. u asked for solutions that are already failing policies. Pay attention, simpleton.
@PixieKittie_ @14KGOP @FarmGirlCarrie My original post did not “demand” anything. What I was suggesting, however, was a permanent termination date, not a temporary or renewable one.
