I was on the Huntingdon train. I only know of one attacker, he got on the train from Peterborough. He was black mid 20’s. We ran from the back of the train to the end as everyone was screaming to run, explaining there was somebody stabbing everyone and everything. 1/

At first I thought it was a joke, but quickly I realised they were serious. Some people coming thought he had a gun, we really didn’t know what we were up against. As I ran I put my hand on a chair, when I looked at my hand it was covered in blood. 2/

There was blood on the top of countless chairs, coming from 2 of the guys who had been severely stabbed ahead of me. A young girl was distraught as the attacker tried to stab her, but a hero of an older man got in the way taking a gash on his forehead 3/

And I think another on his neck. We all ran to end the of the train and pretty soon we realised it was a short train. Everyone was queued at the front and I was one of the people at the back of that queue. 4/

I was standing there with a few others trying to find any kind of weapon, one person I knew got ready with a Jack Daniel’s bottle. I had nothing. For what felt like 10 minutes, I watched that carriage doorway waiting to see a figure appear. 5/

I knew he had a knife from everyone’s wounds but from somebody’s previous comments there was a chance he had a gun. So I stood there praying. We all tried to keep calm but you could feel everyone’s adrenaline. 6/

The train eventually stopped. And I thank god I didn’t see anybody come through that doorway. Everyone ran out the train at Huntingdon, and as I ran out I looked to my right knowing that’s where the attacker would come. 7/

And that’s when I saw about 20 people running in pure panic. Atleast 3 of which were covered in blood. One guy was holding his stomach of which blood was pouring out, shouting, ‘help help, I’ve been stabbed.’ 8/

We all ran together, being completely unarmed against an attacker or attackers that we thought had a gun, you really did feel helpless. To the police’s credit, as we left the train station, they were all arriving. The response was really good. 9/

Then the scene became everything you’re seeing on social media. I’m not sure how travelling on trains will feel after this. I haven’t really processed it all. It felt genuinely surreal and is something I don’t wish anyone to experience. 10/

Knowing somebody has weapons and you have nothing, knowing they’re willing to strike woman and I think children. It wasn’t the England I grew up in. That was barbaric.

@Oliver_foster_ Right now you'll be in the first shell shock stage,it's important to keep talking, for many the helpless feeling can bring many other feelings, self defence and disarm combat training may help so you know if a situation calls where you're unarmed you at least have something to

@Oliver_foster_ My goodness I am so sorry you had to go through that and I’m sure it was absolutely terrifying. Now you know why so many Americans are fighting to keep our second amendment rights. Bless your heart and praying for all of you.

@Oliver_foster_ Ollie thank you for sharing your story, it sounds horrific. It’s impossible to make sense of this It does raise the question as to whether carrying pepper spray should be legal although the fear would be it could be used against innocent people

@Oliver_foster_ I’m so sorry. In moments like these I’m very glad to able to defend myself. I’m deeply aggrieved that your right to self defense has been taken from you.

@Oliver_foster_ Many will be grateful for your account of what happened. It must have been a living nightmare for you but thanks for sharing the truth. We have no idea how the media will spin this. A truly horrifying experience, I hope you'll recover soon.

@Oliver_foster_ Having your right to defend yourself taken away by Government (men with guns in other words) certainly is barbaric. Sorry you have to live there and had to go through this traumatic event.

@Oliver_foster_ Glad you are ok, hope you can process it and find your way back.

@Oliver_foster_ That sounds absolutely terrifying, I couldn't imagine the fear waiting at the front of the train for that carriage door to open. Thank god you all got off.

@Oliver_foster_ Not the England brave men & women fought to defend, but it is the England this generation of brave men & women like yourself and that older man you mentioned will now have to defend each other within.

@Oliver_foster_ This is the most horrifying part of the story. I am so sorry you had to experience it, Olly. Knowing you’re unarmed while facing an assailant determined to take as many lives as possible is terrifying. We shouldn’t have to live like this.

@Oliver_foster_ Thank you for sharing. May you rest and fully recover from this trauma. Praying for all involved🙏

@Oliver_foster_ I'm sorry, Olly. Prayers and hugs from Idaho, America. 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏

@Oliver_foster_ This is not the England you should live in. I am so sorry.

@Oliver_foster_ This is why we're allowed to own guns in America. Glad you made it safely. Prayers for those that didn't. 🙏

@Oliver_foster_ Unfortunately the flood gates have been opened

@Oliver_foster_ Thanks for taking the time to tell us all what is going on from the scene. This platform can be the difference from reality to MSM who doesn't tell the full story!

@Oliver_foster_ When that happens anything becomes a weapon or used in defense. It can be a shoe, a plate, a glass, a bottle, a fork, a chair leg, literally anything not bolted down. I know, on a train there isn't much. Improvise, adapt, overcome.

@Oliver_foster_ Even if I could carry a knife, I have no idea how that would assist me Vs a man with a machete.

@Oliver_foster_ That's why you always carry protection. Criminals don't give a fuck. So why should we. Never put your own safety in the hands of others.

@Oliver_foster_ Horrific. Glad you're all safe. It's not our England we grew up in for most of us now 😔 Thank you for sharing. Hope you have people around you.

@Oliver_foster_ Good thing y’all gave up your guns for “safety”. I’m so sorry y’all had to go thru that but where I’m from (Oklahoma) that dude would’ve gotten shot by about 10 different people.

@Oliver_foster_ You guys have to make your own self defense weapons. You have a right to the preservation of life!

@Oliver_foster_ What changed?

@Oliver_foster_ @naomirwolf Heartbreaking and your countrymen have been disarmed. Prayers for you and the victims

@Oliver_foster_ Thanks for posting this, very brave thing to do.

@Oliver_foster_ The gun laws in England don't prevent attacks. They prevent self-defense.

@Oliver_foster_ Your thread is going viral! #TopUnroll https://threadreaderapp.com/th... 🙏🏼@Gurdur for 🥇unroll

@Oliver_foster_ @Robbo1992x I can’t imagine having to go through that. I will never feel that way in America. Being allowed to carry the means to defend yourself is such an important right.

@Oliver_foster_ brother. i walked around all day today with an exposed firearm on my hip i understand standing up for your nation and its people, but at this point the uk seems to be conquered. i’m sure i speak for everyone when i say that we welcome you here if you choose.

@Oliver_foster_ 💔💔💔

@Oliver_foster_ So sorry you had to see this happen

@Oliver_foster_ Thanks Olly.

@Oliver_foster_ This is the type of violence that leads to completely warranted vigilantism.
