IKF's small lead and a lack of a secondary was the difference for Toronto not winning a title.

Some numbers: His 7.8 ft primary lead ranked 357/381 out of all primary leads in the World Series. His 8.9 ft secondary lead ranked 366/376 out of all secondary leads in the WS. His 28.2 ft/s sprint speed ranked 61/689 out of all sprint speeds in the WS.

@ChrisKirschner The short lead may have been due to Barger getting doubled up to end Game 6. It may not have been IKF’s choice.

@thats_bb_suzyn Can't play scared

@ChrisKirschner Jays were the ultimate one year wonder team. Everything went right for them from injury luck to outlier performances. This was their one chance and they completed botched it.

@ChrisKirschner And why slide on a force play at the plate? Run through the base.

@ChrisKirschner Little League mistake.

@ChrisKirschner And pitching to Ohtani in the long game. And the ball getting stuck in the outfield wall. And Bo's knee turning first to third into first to second. And Yesavage's splitter not splitting in the Muncy at-bat. And... and... and... ugh. The better team lost.

@ChrisKirschner The pitching cost them the game. Dodgers couldn’t hit a splitter to save their lives and the coach put in pitchers that didn’t throw it towards the end of the game

@ChrisKirschner As a runner on third, your lead should be roughly equidistant to as far away the 3B man is away from the bag. With a RHP in the stretch all you have to is lean and read when he lifts his leg and then extend on release. Busting it back to the bag if no swing.

@ChrisKirschner That and him sliding into home is the issue. You go through home plate like it’s first base there. Sliding is never quicker.

@ChrisKirschner IKF's small lead sounds like constipation on the diamond. Toronto needed to drop a massive load to clinch that title without a solid secondary. 💩

@ChrisKirschner So many scenarios of how it could’ve gone different. Bigger secondary lead and “possibly” running through the plate or diving head first. We’ll never know. Unbelievable game by all these men.

@ChrisKirschner No need to slide either. Just run right through the plate.

@ChrisKirschner Dude is awful at so much basic stuff. Of course he was on the Yankees for two full seasons.

@ChrisKirschner Great catch. How does he not score there?

@ChrisKirschner Who’s to blame, him or coaching ?

@ChrisKirschner zero presence of mind. not a blue jays fan but a dodgers hater so hope that guy feels terrible about himself

@ChrisKirschner Can’t get doubled off. He did the right thing. You don’t know ball.

@ChrisKirschner Clutch play by Rojas.

@ChrisKirschner Can’t get doubled off by a line drive. Especially with infield in. At some point the hitter has to drive you in

@ChrisKirschner RIGGED. Nobody takes a tiny lead like that in this situation unless……… - opinion

@ChrisKirschner Bitchette may have scored

@ChrisKirschner And it had nothing to do with the bullpen giving up 3 home runs in the last 4 innings and Toronto leaving 5 runners on base in the last 3 innings (3 of them in scoring position). Let’s nitpick the bullshit and ignore the obvious.

@ChrisKirschner Why is no one criticizing the third base coach?! That’s his job to “coach” his player to get a bigger lead and a secondary. We do this at all levels of baseball!

@ChrisKirschner I thought the same thing at the time. I also remembered the Gimenez liner snared by Muncy in the 8th when Muncy was playing in for a bunt. Maybe IKF worried about that or a possible pickoff with Muncy so close to 3rd. IKF had taken Bichette's place. He successfully bunted in

@ChrisKirschner Holy cow that lead was small. Kirk was barely off the bag too 🧐

@ChrisKirschner and he didn't need to slide, run through and its over

@ChrisKirschner Varsho not getting the ball out of the infield was.

@ChrisKirschner He has been the LVP

@ChrisKirschner The bottom of the Dodgers roster, Klein, Rojas, Wrobleski won games by performing in key moments while the bottom of the Blue Jays roster, IKF, Straw, Heineman, France, Little, just didn't when they had opportunities

@ChrisKirschner Running through home or sliding head first & he would have been safe.

@ChrisKirschner This was a question, IKF lead and jump. Given Rojas' troubles on that grounder and throw, the play shouldn't have been close. Once again, you have to ask what was the base coach doing at that time? He has one job at the moment: put IKF in position to score on a grounder to the

@ChrisKirschner How many line drives to third base off that type of batter/pitcher combo?

@ChrisKirschner IKF was told to keep a small lead since people had been double off and nearly doubled off many times in the series. Things that made the difference in the series: The closer giving up a 9th inning cookie offspeed bomb to an otherwise non threat of a hitter instead of closing out
