A lot of forecasters and pundits went out on a limb to say that Mikie Sherrill struggling was proof of moderates flopping. Not sure those takes have aged particularly well — it was weak reasoning then and looks worse now.

@NateSilver538 @lxeagle17 Could be a skill issue or bad faith but also motivated reasoning. Lots of people are pure intuitive thinkers. To them facts and good evidence are just things that are used to reaffirm their gut feelings and any evidence to the contrary can be hand waved away.
