Isaiah 60:1-3 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

What are we to do? Be lights, and shine brighter and brighter! What a contrast a child of God should be to a dark world! Think about the deepest darkness you’ve experienced, and then a candle being lit in its midst.

We are told to be lights! To shine brighter than the darkness! As the children’s song we all learned says, we must not hide our light, or let the enemy extinguish it! We are told to let it shine until Jesus returns!

This song was surely based on these Words of Jesus! Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

We will shine even brighter in His Kingdom! Matthew 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Where are you today beloved, as you await Jesus’ return? Are you letting your light shine? Have you hidden it away thinking it won’t make a difference in the midst of such darkness?

He says let it shine! He will do the rest! There is nothing He can’t do! We mustn’t grow weary, or let the enemy tell us that our little light doesn’t matter! We must shine brighter until the day of Christ!

Philippians 2:13-16 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.

Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Holding forth the Word of Life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

As we await the day that the tares of darkness are removed and His Kingdom established — Shine!!!

Here is the rest of the parable Jesus told His disciples about that glorious day where we shall shine forth as the sun without any darkness at all!

Matthew 13:37-43 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of Man; The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
