Indigo Airlines Crisis (Thread) - Background story - Accidental or Manufactured - Any connection with Putin's Visit Story starts from January 2024 when Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) introduced Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) guidelines 1/17

These guidelines were introduced for the mental and physical fitness of airlines crew and safety for passengers These guidelines include: - 48 hours of weekly rest for crew (up from 36 hours) - A longer night duty window (00:00–06:00)

- A sharp cut in night landings, only two per week per pilot - A cap of 8 flying hours during night operations Till last year these guidelines were not mandatory but after Ahmedabad crash, DGCA started to make them mandatory in two phase

These FDTL rules were implemented in two phase. few of them in first phase and rest of them in second phase First phase from 1st July 2025 Second phase from 1st Nov 2025 So FDTL was fully implemented from 1st Nov 2025 Since FDTL increases rest time for crew

It reduced availability of Pilots for airlines Same number of flights now requires more pilots 🔹 Productivity per pilot drops 20–35% depending on network type 🔹 Airlines are forced to add crew or cut schedules 🔹 This directly increases costs and reduces flight availability

I used ChatGPT to calculate and it told me now after FDTL, airlines needs 25-30% more staff to maintain same productivity So they need to hire more pilots and crew which will increase their expenses and will reduce profitability

Indigo airlines Market share : 65% Profit after tax in FY25 was Rs 7,258 crore IndiGo operates over 2,200 flights a day - nearly double Air India. As per Indigo it was planning mistake A tiny lapse in planning becomes an enormous meltdown: Even a 10% disruption means

200–400 flights affected and thousands stranded. IndiGo has attributed the chaos to a “multitude of unforeseen operational challenges,” including minor tech glitches, winter schedule changes, congestion, and weather. But was that the reason?

In a significant development on Friday, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued an order withdrawing a strict provision in the new Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) rules that stated “no leave shall be substituted for weekly rest In other words

Indigo brought Govt on knees There is possibility that Indigo used its 65% market share monopoly and deliberately manufactured this crisis to force govt to take back FDTL rules because it was hurting profitability of Indigo Though Indigo completely denied it

The Timing of Crisis FDTL was implemented on 1st Nov then why crisis occurred 25 days later on 5th Dec when Putin was in India? Yesterday this airlines crisis news completely overshadowed Putin's very imp visit to India Media was talking only about this crisis

Clean Skies for Tomorrow is a World Economic Forum–backed multi-stakeholder platform: airlines, energy companies, researchers, and policy actors. So in nutshell, he is a powerful stakeholder in European business and political circle

Dont forget just before Putin's visit Envoys of UK, France and Germany wrote a joint Op-ed European power circle is not comfortable from Putin's India visit So is it possible that Airlines crisis was deliberately manufactured to target Putin's visit to India?

Prima facie these things not look natural and raises many questions and there may be many other players involved in this fiasco Whether this crisis was accidental or manufactured, Indigo airlines is responsible for the suffering of travelers and deserves strict punishment 17/17
