As an Italian renaissance scholar and a comics afficionado, I actually love the Ninja Turtle synergy with the four greats. However, let me just offer a few thoughts as to why Ninja Turtle creators Eastman and Laird could've done a better job naming their creations: https://x.com/metmuseum/status...
So, Donatello is the tech nerd of the Ninja Turtles. That doesn't make sense: the tech nerd should obviously have been Leonardo: the real Leonardo was first and foremost a natural scientist.
Ninja Turtle Michelangelo is a 'party dude' we learn from the cartoons. The real Michelangelo really wasn't. He was a prickly curmudgeon. The real party dude was Raphael. The party dude Ninja should've been Raphael.
Ninja Turtle Raphael, in turn, is the intense, lone wolf of the group. Gah! The real Raphael was the essence of social grace and ran a large, well-functioning workshop. The real maverick was Michelangelo. He should've been the loner Turtle.
Ninja Turtle Leonardo is the leader type, managing a group of four different, talented ninjas. Given the real Raphael's bona fides as a supreme workshop organiser, managing a number of great talents who would go on to individual distinction, Raphael should've the turtle leader
@elDamo Biggie and Tupac is also ok, but kind of spurious
@Metabunker Cowabunga dude! 🐢
