💕💕💕💕 The alarm wakes Yoongi up at an ungodly hour. Groaning, he fumbles for his phone to turn it off. He’s tired but he’s gotta get up. There's a reason why he wakes up so early and it's so he can sit down and chat for a while with his daughter everyday before school.

He goes early to work and he leaves late so he treasures his mornings with Sohye. Even if it means rising at this hour. He walks towards her room before going to the kitchen. His girl is still sleeping. He lets her have some more minutes and goes to make breakfast.

He takes his phone with him and while he's in the middle of scrambling eggs he opens his chat with his boyfriend, Park Jimin. Yes, he’s dating idol Park Jimin. Super hot. Super beautiful. Blinding smile. Korea’s angel and prince, Park Jimin. How did he got so lucky?

And it's not only all of that, but Park Jimin (the singer!!) had always had a crush on Yoongi ever since high school, which was a giant boost to Yoongi’s ego. Not everyday you have an idol gushing about how cool you were in school and flirting with you after you visit a fansite

Yoongi hadn’t paid much attention to Jimin back at that time and as much as he regrets it he’s happy with how things have turned out. Because now, three years after meeting Jimin again at a fansign, he gets to have two beautiful people in his life: his daughter, Sohye and Jimin.

Jimin had texted him a “Happy Day beautiful o(≧▽≦)o” Yoongi wondered why day with capital D? It could be some sexual innuendo, but it was too early for those so Yoongi replied with a simple “Good morning” he contemplated whether to add a kissy face but he settled for a "<3"

He locks his phone when a sleepy Sohye enters the kitchen, a smile growing on his face when he sees her “Good morning sweetie”, he greets. Her little fists rub at her eyes as she sits down on the little table for two they have cramped on their small kitchen

Yoongi leaves a glass of milk next to her as she yawns, she takes it but before she drinks she turns to her father “Daddy, you know what day is it?” Yoongi is spreading butter on some toasts taking his time “Ummmh….Thursday?” “What else?” “It's the fourteenth” “And?”

Yoongi wonders if he forgot something important. He pinches the bridge of his nose in thought. “You don’t have a dance presentation today, I would remember….” “Its not that” She sounds annoyed “Parents meeting at school?? I- I can call my boss...” Yoongi is suddenly anxious

She groans exasperated “It’s Valentine’s Day dad!” Oh, well it could be something worse “Is that so?” Yoongi pours the eggs mix with care to the pan, he can't look at his daughter from where he’s standing but he can feel her eyes on him “Want to do something?”

“No, Daddy!” He can imagine his girl crossing her arms upset “What? Already have a date?” he teases “No! Nasty!” She makes a gagging noise and Yoongi laughs at his daughter. After a beat of silence she speaks up “You didn’t give Jiminie oppa any Valentine’s present last year”

Yoongi freezes still. There's silence in the room, the only sound coming from the eggs frying. Right, of course. Valentine’s Day. It’s a couple’s date. He should be thinking about Jimin. Oh god, Jimin probably meant Valentine’s when he wrote Happy Day, Yoongi is an idiot.

But how does Sohye know Yoongi didn't do anything for last Valentine's? Jimin had been talking about his bad boyfriend skills to his daughter? Ah, he’s screwed “You’ve been talking to Jimin?” Yoongi hands her breakfast and sits in front of her, losing interest on his own food.

Sohye makes an approving sound “On the phone. We facetimed” God, kids this generation are full of tricks. He knew he shouldn’t have agreed with Jimin when the younger bought Sohye a cellphone “Was he mad?” “Nope” Yoongi relaxes at this, he wouldn’t want to upset his boyfriend

“But he sounded sad. You know Jiminie oppa has never celebrated Valentine’s Day before?” “I am aware” Jimin had told Yoongi how in high school he never dated someone and during his last two years he was a trainee and then he had debuted so no Valentine's for him at all

“But you’ve been his /boooyfriend/ for two years now daddy, why haven’t you celebrated with him?” Yoongi deflates at that, he knows he’s not the best boyfriend and he wishes he could be because Jimin doesn’t deserve anything less than the best. But he's terrible at this

“Jiminie was busy touring, he had a concert last Valentine’s day. What was I supposed to do?” Yoongi retorts Sohye rolls her eyes at him “And what about this year?” He should scold her for that action but this conversation is important “I- I forgot” Yoongi winces “Dad!!!!!”

“Watch your tone young lady, we are sitting on the table!” “Dad!!! You really don’t have anything prepared?!” “...No” “You NEED to do something for him” “I do?” "Are you for real???"

Sohye shakes her head rapidly as she munches on her eggs “He’s coming over tonight” Yoongi stares at his daughter “What? Jimin is really busy, he wouldn’t-” “He’s free, he told me so! He also told me I shouldn’t tell you he's planning to be here but I think you need to know”

They stare down at each other, but as always Sohye wins. Her face lights up “We could decorate the living room for him!” “Wait, he is coming over as a surprise? Oh god, he must have something cool prepared, doesn't he? Yoongi runs his hand through his hair stressed.

“Of course, it's Jiminnie oppa, he always has something cool prepared! So you need to think of something too daddy!” Yoongi exhales “I need to but first you gotta go to school” “Daddy no!” “Go brush your teeth. We can plan what I’m doing for Jiminie while I drive you there”

“It has to be something meaningful and cute. Something that will make up for oppa’s missing Valentines” Sohye speaks over excited as Yoongi drives “I wouldn’t want to do something over the top” “Daddy, Jiminie oppa is an idol, everything he does is over the top” She has a point

“He’s never celebrated Valentine’s before!!! It should be incredible, daddy please” Yoongi parks in front of the school “It will be incredible, now go” She pouts but reaches and leaves a kiss on Yoongi’s cheek. She gets out of the car and runs towards the doors of her school

Yoongi and Jimin had met in high school, so Yoongi doesn’t know how Jimin was back when he was the same age as Sohye, around nine years old. He figures he was adorable. He was adorable in high school and he is still adorable to date so he must have been adorable all of his life.

Thinking back on high school Yoongi remembers how Jimin used to have a crush on him back then, maybe that situation could be helpful for this Valentine’s surprise. There must have been something about how he used to be in high school that Jimin liked so much about him.

As Yoongi drives to work, he tries to think what would high school Yoongi do for Valentine's. But high school Yoongi had only given some gifts to one or two ex's and it was different with Jimin, he wouldn't want to gift the same thing over again

High school Yoongi however was more of a romantic, and not romantic in the couple sense but romantic in the sense of a dreamer, who believed in hopeful ideals. He wanted to be a musician like Jimin, not an idol but he wanted to play his piano for everyone.

But life wasn’t sweet to Yoongi. It’s hard having nineteen, a daughter and trying to raise her alone. It definetly would't work out as a pianist. That’s how he ended up as a salesman. It’s not bad, he works hard and he has weekends off to be with Sohye so he likes it.

And then, Jimin had changed his life upside down appearing some day out of nowhere, writing his number on a signed album. Yoongi had erased the text he sent him almost 50 times. Being with Jimin actually made Yoongi be hopeful again The least he could do was spoil him.
