Actually the breaking of the social contract and watching and listening to loud things without headphones in public constitutes a hyper-individualism and solipsism which is closer to a fascist ethos than being considerate of others. 

Additionally, and I'm going to piss a lot of the pseudo-woke off by saying this: this hyper-individualism and solipsism is also part of a broader settler colonialist conception of space in the commons as something that is to be selfishly taken up without regard to others.

You see this idea of space in American culture as you move further west, from my own observations. People will double park, fail to follow traffic laws, and recklessly endanger people for very little gain other than because no one stops them.

I really just farted this stuff out on a whim and did not expect it to get much traction. However, for those saying that I said that fascism is solely individualistic, I'd advise you to read more closely next time.

Hyper-individualism being closer to a fascists ethos than being

kind is not "fascism is hyper-individualism."

Moreover, to further illustrate my point in developments of the cultural far-right which has merged fascistic Herrenvolkism and neoliberalism: copious public consumption of commodities is currently a way in which these people

signal to each other. See, for example: the solely raw meat carnivore weirdos, that bald Tate guy who, despite supposedly converting to Islam, drinks whiskey and ostentatiously displays his wealth. These are all manifestations of the neoliberal ethos which in turn generates sub

communities of people doing the precise same thing. The neoliberal individualism vis-a-vis consumption is turned into mass politics, further fueled by aesthicization of politics in the last half century. Consumption thus becomes the mode through which one attempts to nominally

display their individualism, but in aggregate, are part of a larger collective that subscribe to the same consumption. It's a paradox, just as the last decade has seen a weird convergence of ultra-nationalists who work with other ultra-nationalist politicians...internationally.

Anyways, I've always maintained this: being pedantic is typically the social realm of the mid-wit. Fascism has many elements to it which bas reorganized and regrouped itself into a different form now than it was 90 years ago. Such is the case with every ideology.

It is useful to put a familiar and analogous name on these things, otherwise we will simply spend all of our time parsing apart absurd questions like, "Was 1943 Italy fascist? Italian society and politics were different from the way they were in 1933."

Also, for those complaining about the use of "social contract"; yes, it IS a flawed concept. I can rip out Bourdieu, Gramsci, or Althusser if we want to do this, but you have to put things in ways ppl understand, and let's be honest: most of you don't read theory, or at all.
