Zelensky gave an utterly bizarre interview to Lex Fridman. Here's the top 13 doozies:🧵 

1) He actually claimed that Ukraine has killed 3,800 North Korean troops. The reason why he hasn't provided any evidence is that they burn off their faces before dying. 

2) Later in the interview, Zelensky explains that convincing the US that there are North Korean troops will convince America to more support NATO. 

3) Zelensky says that a necessary security guarantee for there to be a ceasefire is partial NATO membership. Thus, all the territories currently under Ukrainian control will be in but not others. This sounds great until... 

4) Zelensky explains that Putin invaded Georgia to create a frozen conflict because "you will not be accepted in the EU and certainly will not be accepted into NATO." 

5) Zelensky says it is human nature to commit vigilante terrorism after a war. And it will justifiably happen to Russia after the war. 

Also, since it is primarily a metaphor for postwar state relations, Zelensky says that Ukraine will commit terrorism if it isn't let into NATO. 

6) Zelensky claims that the Budapest Memorandum included "securities guarantees" from the US, Britain, France and China.

France and China had nothing to do with it. They each signed their own documents vaguely saying they would support peaceful resolutions of future disputes. 

7) Zelensky says we need to find the US, UK, and I guess French and Chinese Budapest Memorandum signatories and put them in jail. 

8) Zelensky says the Budapest Memorandum and Minsk Accords were useless because they are each "just a piece of paper."

I guess the NATO Charter is some kind of immutable law of physics? 

9) Zelensky condemns European democracy and praises North Korean totalitarianism because they can truly "bring people together." 

10) Zelensky says that basically every time after a war, one of the belligerents' next generations admit their country was the aggressor and begs for forgiveness, but it is impossible to forgive. Post-WWII Germany is the typical example. 

11) Ukraine cannot hold elections because 8.5 million people are abroad, and Zelensky wants the draft dodgers to vote. 

12) Zelensky says that whenever or if ever someone is caught selling weapons on the black market, his soldiers will "kill such people with their own hands without any trial."

That's a pretty big human rights violation.

Also, Americans are doing it. 

13) Besides, "Do you honestly think anyone could steal weapons by the truckload when we ourselves don't have enough on the front lines?"

Hmmm... What if there's not enough weapons on the frontlines because they're being stolen by the truckload?🤔
