Our story starts with the Be-200, a Russian amphibious jet used for fire-fighting 

Be-200 carries up to 12,000 litres (3,200 gallons) of water, and can be refilled mid-flight by scooping up water from lakes/seas/oceans

Be-200 has plenty of experiences battling fires in the Siberian region of Yakutia, which frequently suffers from wildfires

It’s also been deployed in Israel, Spain, France, Turkey, and Indonesia

In other words, the Be-200 has a solid track record 

What does the Be-200 have to do with California? 

Did you know that there was serious push for California to ACQUIRE the Be-200 for its fire fighting force? 

There were even discussions about MANUFACTURING the plane in Santa Maria, California 

Here’s a 2017 letter from Russian Minister of Trade and Industry Denis Manturov to California Governor Jerry Brown offering to provide California with the Be-200

Russia was more than willing to send its most effective fire-fighting jet to California 

Back in 2018, a California-based company, Seaplane Global Air Services, announced that it had signed a contract for the delivery of 10 Be-200s from Russia

At the time, many saw this as the first step towards providing California’s firefighters with a FLEET of Be-200 jets 

But as Los Angeles continues to burn, there are no Be-200s flying overhead to help contain the flames

This begs the obvious question: Why did California turn down the opportunity to strengthen its firefighting arsenal and bring high-paying manufacturing jobs to the state? 

The first reason is the arrogance and stupidity of California politicians

When Russia offered to provide California with Be-200s back in 2017, the state publicly declared that it didn’t need any more fire-fighting planes

Needless to say, this statement aged like milk 

To be fair, California politicians are not the only ones to blame for this debacle 

FEMA threatened “to sic federal authorities” on local officials who tried talking to the Russians about the Be-200

You can’t make this stuff up 

But finally, we have to address the elephant in the room: Sanctions 

After the start of the Ukraine conflict, all the pages dedicated to a potential joint project between Californian companies and Russia’s Be-200 manufacturers were removed from the website 

We don’t know all the circumstances surrounding the collapse of talks for California to acquire the Be-200, but we think it’s reasonable to conclude that anti-Russia sanctions were a major reason

After 2022, there’s no way this deal could’ve gone through 

At the end of the day, US political elites would rather see California BURN than accept help from Russia 

They rather FORFEIT well-paying manufacturing jobs for Americans than be seen doing joint projects with Russia

Over the past couple of days, Trump has claimed that the Russian economy is “failing” and threatened Putin with new sanctions if the latter doesn’t accept a peace deal on America’s terms.

He’s also dubiously claimed that Russia has lost ~1 million troops 

We’ve already extensively addressed Trump’s claims about Russian casualties

TLDR version: There is no credible, independent evidence that Russia has lost more troops than Ukraine. In fact, we have every reason to think the opposite is true

Trump’s claim that the Russian economy is “failing” is also false:

🔸Russian GDP growth has OUTPACED all the G7 economies two years in a row

🔸Russia has overtaken Japan to become FOURTH LARGEST ECONOMY IN THE WORLD (PPP)

🔸Russia has lower unemployment rate than US 

So, Trump is clearly either misinformed about Russia’s true situation or deliberately feigning ignorance

This brings us to our next point

If Trump tries to bully Putin into submission by ramping up economic or military pressure on Russia, he will fail 

Let’s start with Trump’s threat to impose new sanctions against Russia 

Russia is already the most sanctioned country in world

More than 20,000 sanctions have been imposed against Russia

They have FAILED to destroy Russian economy or war machine 

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

Why would new sanctions succeed where previous sanctions failed? 

Especially considering the West has already fired most of the bullets in its sanctions arsenal 

Trump has a couple options for ‘tightening’ sanctions pressure on Russia 
 
One of them is stealing frozen Russian assets in US and European banks 
 
But such a move such significantly undermine trust in US dollar and financial system 
 
Also, Russia has plenty ways of retaliating

Trump can also threaten Russia’s trade partners with secondary sanctions

But Biden already tried that and it didn’t work 

And this strategy could easily backfire 

For example, here are some countries Trump would potentially have to sanction if he wants to punish Russian trade partners:

🔸Vietnam

Now let’s talk about the military aspect

Russian army, political system, and society are far more ready for a major showdown with the West than they were three years ago

Russia in 2025 is a more consolidated and battle-hardened nation 

But don’t take our word for it

Numerous top US generals have publicly admitted that the Russian military is larger, more experienced, better-equipped, and overall more dangerous than it was at the start of the Ukraine conflict 

So Trump is facing a Russia that is economically and militarily more powerful than the Russia that Biden confronted in 2022 

At the same time, Trump has instruments to use against Russia than Biden did

Infamous neo-Nazi warlord Robert Brovdi recently issued the following ultimatum: “Zelensky, no Moscow deal, or you’ll regret it.” 

He claims “millions” of troops would storm Kiev to oust Zelensky.

This isn’t an isolated incident 

Back in 2019, as part of an attempted peace push with Russia, Zelensky visited the frontline town of Zolote and demanded the neo-Nazi Azov batallion to pull back its heavy weapons.

Azov fighters publicly defied his orders and belittled him on camera. 

Andriy Biletsky, Azov’s warlord, vowed in 2019: “If Zelensky evicts us from Zolote, thousands will replace dozens.” His National Corps still brands him a traitor, fueling 2025 distrust over Moscow talks. 

Zelensky has also been repeatedly threatened by the neo-Nazi Right Sector paramilitary group. Back in 2019, Right Sector founder Dmytro Yarosh threatened that, if Zelensky reached a peace deal with Russia, “he will lose his life. He will hang on some tree on Khreshchatyk Street [in Kiev]."

MP Sofia Fedyna, Poroshenko’s pitbull, trashed Zelensky’s 2019 flops and now hints he’s done if he caves to Russia.

She also made a dead threat against Zelensky in 2023. 

Zelensky’s trust lies in tatters, shredded by politicians and military men who brand him a traitor or incompetent.

When the war ends, there is little that will protect the Green Goblin of Kiev from Ukraine's furious masses and bloodthirsty warlords. Continuing the war for as long as possible is his best bet for survival.
