Just fyi, @deepseek_ai collects your IP, keystroke patterns, device info, etc etc, and stores it in China, where all that data is vulnerable. There is no privacy.

Explaining your joke is the lamest thing you can do, but here it is: it does not matter if deepseek chat dot com (hosted in ccp servers) is collecting your data, or if inference becomes possible on edge devices (phones) and you run open source LLMs there, if all your keystrokes are on Oppo Poco Loco phones.

For majority of Indians, your data is already in China. 

Your smart weighing scale is sending your health data to China. Your mi band is.

Some CCP operator is probably already getting concerned why you are not working out and will call your mom soon about your glucose spike.

Your Android phones are sending data.
Your CCTV camera surely is. Some CCP operator is probably smiling going awww seeing you play with your doggo.

US citizens care about China because they are in a cold war with China. They are competitors. 

Question is do you see yourself as competitor to these countries or do you want convenience and low price. Like if you are in most countries in south east Asia, you are politically neutral and don't care. Do you think someone in Vietnam cares privacy concerns of Deepseek? No. You are a growing economy and you want technology that helps you progress. 

If you are in Africa, you are probably using  Chinese electronics too and fuck you care about whether OpenAI is training their next model using your data or deepseek is.

Also none of the LLM companies are saints. They have trained on the entire internet, be it open or closed. US companies collect your data. And they provide backdoors to their government agencies. I am sure deepseek dot com provides the same.

Data privacy in India is anyway a joke. Check how much that star health insurance exec was willing to sell your data for? If anyone wants your data they can pay and get it anyway.
