I respect all that you do @EBL2017 but please stop regurgitating old news. Not once against Newcastle did the CCB invert into midfield, instead we opted for a 2-4 deep buildup shape with Licha and Mazraoui at FB, Maguire and MDL at CB with a pivot of Mainoo and Case. ↓
At times Mazraoui tucked into the midfield to facilitate Amad dropping wide. Occasionally, Maguire stayed in a 3 on the edge of his box (not in midfield - staggered with Casemiro) but this was mosty done when Newcastle failed to sustain pressure. ↓
This ‘inverting into midfield’ wasn’t prevalent against Wolves either so i’m not sure where you are coming from? I acknowledge that there are tactical flaws in Amorim’s build up structure, but to keep persisting about something that he has already adapted is strange. @EBL2017
