Meet Queen Didda, described by historians as the "Catherine of Kashmir." The warrior queen, who ruled from 980-1003 CE, was a princess of the Hindu Lohara dynasty and the granddaughter of Kabul's Hindu Shahis. Didda took power after her husband's death, and ruthlessly foiled all attempts to dethrone her by using the principles of the Arthashastra. Coins were minted in her name and she ruled till the age of 79. A true queen who'd put today's so called feminists to shame.
