Red light therapy reverses all signs of skin aging, as shown in a recent study. (🧵1/8)

This study used red light therapy 2x a week for 3 months. ➔ 12 min / session ➔ 630 nm (red light wavelength) ➔ 15.6 J/cm^2 (power density) with the Skin Light Dior × Lucibel mask. (2/8)

Wrinkles were substantially decreased with the red light. After 1 month of use, crow's feet (wrinkles by the eyes) decreased in depth by over 15%. After 3, they decreased by over 38%. The more it was used, the less wrinkles. (3/8)

Sagging measured by dermatologists also decreased with more red light usage. After 1 month, down by 13.6%. After 3, down by 23.6%. (4/8)

When measuring the skin's firmness / elasticity, similar benefits are seen. ➥ 23.6% decrease in firmness ➥ 18.4% increase in elasticity over the 3 months. Both key signs of healthy skin - aging skin is firm and lacks elasticity. (5/8)

These effects could be seen on a deeper level as well. Ultrasound imaging was conducted to observe the density of the skin. The longer red light was used, the more robust the skin became, after 3 months, nearly a 50% increase in density, reflecting better collagen /

Red light also decreased signs of acne development. Substantial decreases in: ◇ Pore size (less opportunity for clogging) ◇ Sebum production (70% decrease, less oil to clog) (7/8)

WHY red light is so good for skin health: Red light's wavelengths are the longest of any visible light (color). The longer the wavelength, the deeper the light can penetrate into tissues. Red light can get deep into the dermis, where a lot of the magic happens. It mainly

@Outdoctrination Which brand do you recommend

@Outdoctrination Red light at 630 nm is well studied it boosts fibroblast activity, leading to more collagen and firmer skin. The wrinkle improvements they mention line up with past trials, though consistency and correct dosing are key.

@Outdoctrination What would be the optimal frequency per week? Any potential negatives from using 5+ times per week?

@g97_Jones there does seem to be a point of diminishing and eventually negative returns - most studies use EOD in these small amounts

@Outdoctrination Ahhhh that is why they have the red light district...

@Outdoctrination But now my bedroom "looks like a harem" 😏 @RagnarBlakmane

@Outdoctrination Great report and one which aligns with the teachings of Dr Jack Kruse!

@Outdoctrination It certainly smooth my skin but also gives me a lot of brown spots, so not sure I’m happy with the trade off…

@Outdoctrination Will it damage my eyes if I put it on my face?
