Republicans are having a big, public argument about the antisemitism that has contaminated their party. Democrats aren't.
"Their antisemites are vile neo-Nazis. Our antisemites bring exciting new energy to our party!"
@davidfrum Saying again : Whoever throws out the anti-Semites first will have an advantage in the general elections of 2026-2028 Most Americans and the middle do not like issues discussion hidden with bigotry
@davidfrum This Republican will have nothing to do with antisemites. And if the Heritage Foundation is going to accommodate or otherwise tolerate them, then I’ll have nothing to do with them, either. Antisemites are social toxins, whether they’re left, right, or center.
@davidfrum Was the big argument about “good people on both sides?” Of camp Auschwitz J6 people pardoned by Trump? About Trump having dinner with Fuentes? The only argument republicans are having is if the want to publicly come out as having a Nazi caucus.
@davidfrum Jew here. I’m glad the republicans are having this public argument. I’m saddened the democrats aren’t, and never had one. One is VERY overdue. Most of the antisemitism I’ve faced has been from the left. Not online, but in person.
@davidfrum Yes, I’m very concerned that we’ll soon have 2 parties condoning anti-semitism, racism, and violence rather than just the one we have currently. It’s unfortunate that Democrats aren’t bothering to argue that out of their party. We’ll see what the Republicans do.
@davidfrum Sad to say that many Dems are acquiescing to the mob on the issue of antisemitism and anti-Israel zealotry. They have been taken in by Zohran Mamdani's dazzling smile and uncommon charisma. Been a Dem my whole life, but I am already starting to feel politically homeless.
@davidfrum There's a reason for that. The GOP is realizing that their antisemite elements dominate their political ideology publicly for the first time. Dems know it's a tiny minority.
@davidfrum Really?
@davidfrum 1) They are 2) Look at what happened on college campuses after Oct 7th. Plenty of anti semitism on the left
@davidfrum Because it has already invaded the left to far-left, David. This isn’t even really remotely a debate in left-wing circles. It’s framed as a postcolonial issue and Jews are viewed as the oppressor.
@davidfrum Again, criticizing the priority that many GOP politicians give Israel = antisemitism to these people.
@davidfrum That democrats are not having an argument over the anti-semitism that has contaminated their party is the big story here.
@davidfrum I don’t know if he is being sarcastic or not. Racists are on both sides and a public argument is healthy. This means their attitude is not acceptable. When Democrats aren’t having any and they try to whitewash them, this tells that racism has infected the whole Democratic Party
@davidfrum Uniparty centrism has failed, it died when the Democrats surrendered to the radical Marxists revolutionaries on the Left. Hectoring young conservative men about supporting Israel when they can't even get jobs or start families is a losing strategy. They listen to Nick Fuentes
@davidfrum Maybe the Democrats should have an argument, instead of being outright complicit in antisemitism https://x.com/jacobkornbluh/st...
@davidfrum Scrutiny of what Israel is doing is not contamination. It is what a free people and a responsible party do.
@davidfrum Which is a sign of the moral sanity and political courage of republicans. They do not want antisemites in their party and are making it crystal clear that antisemitism is morally wrong and doesn’t speak for them. Democrats on the other hand have Sen. Fetterman—and complicity.
@davidfrum That's true. Democrats all agree to be antisemitic, so they don't need to argue.
@davidfrum You think that there aren't any Democrats that are antisemitic? Or they're just not talking about it? That's a bad thing, no?
@davidfrum Their antisemites won handily some time ago.
@davidfrum Dems have a guy running for senate in Maine with 2 Nazi tattoos "It's different"
@davidfrum Of course not. For Democrats it is just policy.
@davidfrum @KayeSteinsapir As a former registered “R”, I worry more broadly about their views on this thing called “democracy” and the near complete lack of principled leadership.
@davidfrum Yes we noticed. Taken a look at Bill Kristol recently?
@davidfrum As a Jew who fled the Democratic Party, I am so happy to see Republicans tackling this head-on. The Democrats acted like it wasn't happening and that Jews who withheld their donations were just greedy.
@davidfrum You think this is a gotcha. It sort of is, but not in the way you think. Need a hint? To paraphrase the great Terry Pratchett, fish don't have a word for water.
@davidfrum Are they? All I see is the @GOP defending their positions.
@davidfrum Yeah, the Democrats are out in the street, shouting "Globalize the Intifada."
@davidfrum You guys are having arguements about which bathrooms to use and whether polls should be monitored for illegal voting. We're not the same.
@davidfrum That's a pretty big problem right? I would love if the Democrats had a public argument about their extremist. Fuck I might even vote for them again if they did.
@davidfrum Yeah they’ve all accepted it already.
@davidfrum Nonsense. You've overplayed the 'antisemitism' card. It's no disguise for genocide. Everybody sees through it. Play another record.
@davidfrum If you label everyone an "antisemite" you will have more antisemites.
@davidfrum Yes, and that’s a good thing. The Democrats can’t seem to muster up the same about antisemitism and Marxism that has contaminated their party.
@davidfrum Because Democrats mostly oppose Israel. We are still somewhat split.
