We scream about liquidity fragmentation all day and all night.

The intensity of screaming kept increasing. 

Now, we have so many new L2s and L1s launching — all promising supersonic performance. 

They are well-funded too, and they’ve figured out some inflated growth using

But they are still shallow inside, waiting for their death in the next few years because they might never be able to build a thriving ecosystem of applications due to the lack of overall liquidity.

All these new L1s/L2s basically depend on category players like Uniswap and Aave to deploy on them and double down on whatever liquidity they attract afterward. 

Most of these deployments never reach the expected numbers, so it’s just a short-term deception being planted to keep

The true solution will come when these new chains find a way to create a pathway for new liquidity to enter their ecosystem by incentivizing it fairly and ensuring they capture the maximum market share from the new liquidity.

Now the question is, where is this new liquidity that has yet to hit DeFi?

Bitcoin. XRP. Doge. LTC and more. 

Bitcoin DeFi is going to grow more and more — and we already have so many products being built around this theme.

Bitcoin Staking Cap has reached around $5.1B, a 130%

Bitcoin TVL has reached $5.5B, and it has the potential to grow significantly from here.

When we talk about XRP, around $10B worth of tokens are just sitting on exchanges.

These tokens could potentially earn some yields if holders find a way to move them onchain into a

There is a clear gap between chains that have liquidity but no ecosystem to utilize that liquidity, and chains that have an ecosystem for utilization but whose current liquidity is not enough to serve the ecosystem.

We just need to find a route to send liquidity from one chain to another, and people should be able to hold their original token on one chain while also getting another token on the other chain that can generate some good yields.

That’s what @moremarketsxyz figured out.

They built an infra using Near Cross-Chain Signatures, Veda Vaults, and Eigen Layer AVS to provide that channel between two chains, where one chain acts as the principal and the other chain acts as the recipient.

The principal chain would move liquidity to applications building on recipient chains. 

Holders who are holding the assets on principal chains would get two tokens: 

receipt tokens and positional tokens.

Receipt tokens would be pegged 1:1 against principal tokens, which could be used in the recipient chain's DeFi ecosystem for yield generation.

Positional tokens would be representation of principal assets on principal chains which could be used in principal chain for providing

The community will get a double advantage of utilizing a principal token if the principal chain also has a robust DeFi ecosystem.

For example: if you are depositing ETH into a Moremarket vault, it creates a receipt token for ETH.

So basically, if you are making 5% on your ETH now, with Moremarkets you could make 10%.

MoreMarkets vaults will have strategy managers, tasked with picking the best yield opportunity for the principal token you deposit in the vault.

To withdraw from MoreMarkets, holders deposit their tokens into the Principal Chain’s vault.

The protocol first uses unallocated capital; if insufficient, external solvers can fulfill the request. 

If no solver steps in by expiry, the request is canceled.

You take notes when you read docs, and you could easily make 10–20 tweets/QTs using those notes — those notes reflect your understanding of the projects — and you just start sharing.

People will find them useful, and you could earn yaps too — and make sure you share those

The best part of this whole process is that you would learn to read docs, and once you learn to read docs — you would become fundamentally sound, and it would help you identify good investments too.

The whole idea of Public Blockchain started with Bitcoin.

The Bitcoin Blockchain was created to facilitate p2p payments between two parties in a distributed and decentralized manner.

The currency being used to facilitate these payments is BTC.

BTC as an internet currency was quite popular before 2014.

A lot of people were using Bitcoin back in those days to accept cross-border payments. 

It was a better alternative to PayPal because you were saving a straight 5% on payments, which PayPal used to charge in those days.

I got my first exposure to Bitcoin in 2013, and I've seen many of my freelancer friends using Bitcoin to accept payments in those days. 

The use of BTC as a payment started to decline mainly after the shutdown of the popular dark web marketplace Silk Road.

We started seeing the rise of privacy-focused crypto like Dash, Zcash, Monero, Verge, etc., in that period of 3 years from 2014-17, and all of these coins were launched on their own PoW-based blockchains. 

They were kind of L1s but designed for a specific purpose.

We started with PoW monolithic blockchains designed to serve a specific use case. 

They had a native coin that was used as a currency to transact on the network, and users also needed to pay some fees in that currency to facilitate a transaction.

After the rise of privacy-focused PoW L1s, we saw the launch of the world computer - Ethereum, which allows devs to build all kinds of possible blockchain use cases on its L1 network. 

They provided dev tooling, frameworks, and programming languages to make decentralized apps

Ethereum also created a new way of fundraising for projects through ICOs, and it created a major demand for Ethereum L1 back in 2017-18. Ethereum L1 ended up hitting 1M daily transactions on Jan '18, and that was the first time blockchain got its first 1M daily transactions.

If you look at the early success of ETH from the past 2 cycles, the demand for the token usually came from speculative avenues like ICOs, DeFi, and NFTs. 

People were transacting on ETH because they were expecting a return. 

Now, that was not the case with Bitcoin and Monero

More people entered only for speculation post-2016, I believe, when BTC was trading around $500 and ETH was at $1. 

The demand shifted from utility to speculation back then. Now, you get a different audience to serve, not freelancers, but people who are here to make money.

The whole idea of creating demand for an L1 is to create speculative avenues for people to make money — it's as simple as that.

In the current cycle, Solana cracked the code with memes.

Memes are simple, they are universal, and people connect with them easily. 

Since Solana

1M daily tx was the peak of ICO speculation on ETH 7 years ago, and now Solana is doing 60M very regularly. 

That's 60x growth in terms of daily usage on the leading blockchain. 

ETH, on the other hand, is still stuck at 1M tx per day, and they're now focusing on scaling

Now the demand is moving to L2s, and these L2s are using ETH as a payment gas fee token. 

But the tx fees went down by 100-1000x on L2s compared to what we saw in ICOs on the ETH network. 

So even if we get 100M daily tx on L2s, we're going to see less demand for ETH.

What makes more sense here is having an L2 with a potential 100M daily tx, its own token as gas fees, staking features, collateral in DeFi, to actually get the right value capture, and speculative premium for traders and investors too.

On the infra side, we would be ready with high-performance altVM-based L2s on ETH, but pulling demand for the network and finding speculative value for the native token would require constant exploration of new use cases to bring speculators on board

The future of blockchains will be heading towards finding new use cases for hyper-speculation. 

AI agents were a great new addition there; if Base could have a token, it might rally. MegaETH is trying to crack the metaverse code, which is actually a bigger pie for the future in

There are new L1s like SUI doubling down on cracking the code of SocialFi by tokenizing social media engagement and distributing fair incentives in the creator economy. 

We also have an emerging side of RWA tokenization, where a massive demand could be generated from both retail

In the future, I believe some of the blockchains will settle on the use cases they've mastered, where they have managed to actually create demand for them.

ETH would probably emerge as a global settlement layer for DeFi. 

It still has the highest share in DeFi TVL and

Solana gained major market share in DEX trading volume, has the most onchain users, and could actually create more speculative avenues like memes to retain its user base for the long future. 

Sui got a solid start, with a great community, solid PA, and ongoing traction.

L2s are going to see a major demand shift, as we've seen in the past from Arbitrum to Base. 

It's all a matter of finding better speculative avenues, and people will move chains. Arbitrum was the top L2 then, Base is the top L2 now. 

Who will become the next popular L2 is

L2 networks need to get more demand. 

They should be able to capture market share from Solana, and they also need to figure out the right value capture for their token to actually create a sustainable feedback loop around price action.

Its not about the tech, its about how your tech would help people to make money, the nature of audience intreatcing on Blockchains has been changed, and teams should think more about cracking speculative demand codes rather than creating a ghost chain with theoretical TPS

A company with $11.6T worth of assets took the lead in RWA tokenization with over $1.2B worth of tokenized US Treasury Bonds. 

The US issues around $2T worth of bills every month, so even with 0.1% market share, BlackRock could tokenize $2B worth of T-bills monthly.

Considering BlackRock's overall network effect, this share is expected to increase, potentially reaching 1% of monthly issuance, which would equate to $20B worth of tokenized assets each month.

BUIDL has the potential to reach $100B in TVL within the next 12 months if BlackRock decides to go aggressive from here. 

With the current regulatory environment and growing demand for US T-bills, I expect BUIDL to witness significant growth.

Who will benefit from the anticipated BUIDL growth?

Let’s understand the nature of liquidity rotation and what we could expect next 🧵

In 2017, crypto had a single liquidity channel dominated by retail, revolving around the idea of “stacking sats.” 

BTC entered the liquid market of coins, and people traded Bitcoin against altcoins to potentially make more bitcoins—that was the single and common liquidity

After the rise of ICOs, the market found another channel that served the same purpose of stacking sats—the goal remained the same from 2016-19. 

In the bear cycle, we saw a rise in futures trading, where BTC was used as collateral to take leverage, again with the same goal of

In the last cycle, we saw an influx of new money with a different mindset—mostly people looking to make quick cash. 

The goal of stacking sats was never discussed in the new circle; they all wanted more cash.

The market shifted from ALTBTC to ALTUSDT, and ALTUSDT pairs started getting more trading volume than ALTBTC pairs. 

We also saw the creation of new liquidity channels—DeFi and NFTs.

Communities were built around them, and people farming yield in DeFi summer or flipping NFTs had the common goal of stacking ETH. 

ETH had more upside potential in the last cycle, and it worked because ETH ended up outperforming BTC, making people more money.

By the end of the last cycle, we had 3 liquidity channels:

1/ People putting stables in alts and making alts in return.
2/ People putting ETH in DeFi farms and NFTs and making ETH in return.
3/ People putting BTC in alts and making BTC in return.

People accumulated gains in

Now, in the bear market, most stables moved into BTC when alts went through a death phase, leading to increased BTC liquidity from retail. 

Institutional buyers had already started buying BTC, making BTC the biggest liquidity channel in the market.

This liquidity became massive after the Spot ETF launch in the US. Now, Bitcoin liquidity might cover 70-80% of the total market liquidity, and it may never return to altcoins.

People who have been through a couple of cycles understand BTC’s nature and don’t want to take higher exposure in any alt.

Some of this liquidity moved to SOL, as it became the new retail liquidity channel where people traded memes and stacked SOL—and they are still doing it.

So at the current stage, we have multiple liquidity channels of different sizes:

1/ BTC Liquidity (ETFs/Retail/Institutions)
2/ Stables (Supplied on Lending Platforms, Holding in wallets)
2/ ETH Liquidity (Locked in DeFi/NFTs/Staking/Restaking)
3/ SOL Liquidity (Staked/rotating

Right now, meme liquidity from SOL rotation and new liquidity from airdrop selling are the only liquid sources from retail moving into different narratives. 

Meme liquidity is chasing instant gratification, avoiding large caps or alts, and choosing markets where ROI could be

This will lead to the creation of new liquid markets like AI agents in the future. 

Once liquidity rotates to a narrative, new bag holders are born, and speculation attracts liquidity from outside the genesis cluster. 

For example, AI agents pulled liquidity from ETH, airdrops,

A key factor in liquidity rotation and locking is belief—HODLing for the long term. 

That’s what happened with AI agents. Since builder energy in the space is intact, we might see more waves around these coins, similar to how memes found new waves after long corrections.

At the same time, we should be prepared to witness the creation of more liquidity channels in the coming years. Most of these will align with the interests of people with liquidity and their goals.

The common goal right now is feeding the instant gratification energy of retail entering through the SOL liquidity channel. 

But in the near future, we could see the creation of long-term and sustainable liquidity channels for projects with positive cash flow—mainly large caps

This would invite more serious players with large capital, marking the beginning of the first bull cycle under authoritarian control, while smaller liquidity channels continue to create gains and losses in a total crypto anarchy state.

In coming months, we could expect two things: 

1/more liquidity rotation from meme, agents to other new shiny narratives

2/ Inbound liquidity channel creations post-regulation for some alts—mainly those that have survived the inflection point of validation and are going through

Crypto futures trading is an addiction—one that can drain you mentally and financially.

How do you break free from it?

Let me share my personal experience of being addicted for five years and how I finally got clean 🧵

1/ Why do we start trading futures?

Mainly because of our desire to make money in the shortest time possible, and most of us think futures is the only way to do that since we see a lot of echo chambers built around crypto futures, where people who make some profits broadcast it

We enter with the thought of replicating the success of that one guy who shared his screenshot of winning—without even validating any data on his entire futures trading PnL or his ROI over the past 3/6 months. 

What usually pushes our mind is the expectation of making similar

Our mind pushes us toward a trajectory of risk, masked under the great optimism of amazing rewards—rewards we feel confident about because we believe we have enough validation on the trades we are taking. 

Most of this validation comes from blindly following someone who presents

Now, what is TA?

TA analyzes historical price data, builds patterns around it, and provides possible outcomes—eventually creating a bias in your mind about future price action.

In TA, you get thousands of indicators, patterns, and strategies.

And every indicator, pattern, and strategy would sound like a gateway to your success. 

There are two ways to look at it—either you do paper trading for a few months and figure out the best trading setup with patterns and indicators you master on the asset you've done your

Most of us skip the whole training phase. 

Now, can you really expect a batsman to score 100 on his debut in international cricket if he never played any domestic cricket or never went to any net practice? 

You can't, right? 

Then why do you think people without any "net

Trading is a sport.

You will have ups and downs.

When you practice the sport through paper trading, you end up processing price action more effectively because money isn't involved, allowing you to stay detached from your emotions.

You can only learn futures when you manage to detach your emotions. 

And when you spend a couple of months doing that with futures, you end up building the character, patience, and discipline required when you enter the real game.

Most people who jump straight into the game end up losing, even if they master TA. 

They always fail at controlling their emotions. 

That’s what happens to everyone—our psychology kills us every time, not just in trading but in life too.

No bro, your future will be ruined if you keep playing futures because, at some point, you’re going to end up building a burden of debt for yourself. 

And if you have a family to take care of and you're still doing what’s making you lose money, then what are you doing? 

Think

Get out of this mess if it’s not working for you.

Crypto trading is not the only way to make money in the world.

You might have other skills you haven’t used in a long time—start using them again, start rebuilding your life.

Reflect and figure things out. Take a job, work with someone—get out of this addiction. 

Logout from Twitter and YouTube on your phone for a few months—avoid those distractions. 

No one is coming to save your life—in the end, you need to make your own decisions.

If you ask me what I did when I lost everything in futures, became an addict, sold my wife’s jewelry, and carried the burden of debt—I tried hard to get out every day.

It took time, and it ended up costing me even more money. 

But when I finally got out, I started writing

For me, writing was the skill that saved my life and made me a better person. 

For you, it could be any of the skills you developed in the past. It’s time to work on that—upskill, start small. 

It might take time, but believe me, it’s better than losing money every day.

Thank you for sharing mate — you gonna bounce back as long you start reflecting on the mistakes from the past, and try to not repeat them again — plus having a stable job is good which could help you take breaks from trading during those losing streak periods

you've lessons for life, and those are valuable enough to make a come back in the future as long you've some skills to grind, and make real money not depending on speculative avenues.

No one talks about relative advantages in crypto projects as we are too busy thinking about price all day.

But these prices are simply the reflection of relative advantages in practice.

The whole crypto space evolved on the foundation of relative advantage. 

Ethereum happened because Bitcoin was not scalable enough to build dapps, Solana happened because Ethereum gas fees were too high for more adoption onchain, Sui is happening because MoveVM has better

In that evolution of crypto projects -- we are witnessing a competition to build better products along with creating new opportunities for users.

Teams are trying to make a better version of something that is already working, like L1s, DEXs, lending, and many more.

Projects based on relative advantages also have better chances to get visibility because they don’t really need to create a new audience from scratch, but they need to find a way to get visible to the existing audience which is already there.

For visibility, they could mint tokens and use them to drive incentives to bring people on board. Before the TGE, they make sure to attract capital allocators by showing the potential market they could capture from existing projects, demonstrating the relative advantage.

When they manage to raise funds from some tier 1 investors, their path to gaining visibility among users becomes much easier, and now all they need to do is create another promise of incentives for using what they built.

It’s the same script everyone uses -- but there are only a few teams that actually innovate on something that is being missed by many. 

There are only a few teams that could build the new primitive.

Those teams that could build new primitives which promise better tech, better experience, or even better tokenomics are the ones that could manage to survive and grow for the long term.

Their token price discovery would go through phases where they might reach the 0-1 stage even before TGE, but the real discovery will happen when the project spends at least 3 years in the stage of adoption. 

That’s when the point of inflection starts to push speculation above

In summary:

Hyperliquid is winning because it had a relative advantage over dYdX.

Fluid is winning because it had a relative advantage over Uniswap.

Euler is winning because it had a relative advantage over Aave.

Rabby is winning because it had a relative advantage over

Now it’s time for you to find out that relative advantage, and you can do so by going deep into project docs and really figuring out what they are building and what kind of relative advantage they have against the market leader in the category they are operating in.
